So, for this chapter we are going to be writing in third person. I know I know, it's like story writing 101 not to switch point of view, however I believe that reading this story in first person is quite repetitive. The last thing I want is for people to be bored by the lack of description that comes from Pikachu's P.O.V. So, without further ado, here's so a different type of chapter! Enjoy, or don't. I mean, by this point, If you're not enjoying the book then why are you still reading? Anyways, let's begin!
(Also, listening to 'Reason' by Elza Kanzaki. It's one of the songs from Gungale Alternative, and I absolutely love it. Check it out if you're interested.)

A black mist shrouded Pikachu's vision. His battle with Infernape had taken more out of him than he had originally thought. He fought recklessly, seemingly doubtful of his training. In reality, though, it wasn't doubt of his training. It was his confidence in his training that led to his downfall. Infernape was his fellow teammate, someone who he had fought alongside for many years and who he liked to think he knew rather well. However, Pikachu knew Infernape was a powerful Pokemon, and he had gone under the same training as Pikachu had. The doubt Pikachu had during their fight was in himself. He believed that Infernape would be able to read his every move seeing as they'd spent the last few years constantly training alongside each other. Had he been less focused on his self-doubt, perhaps the outcome would have been different.
The sound of a gentle and caring voice was what roused the electric mouse back to consciousness. His eyelids felt heavy, stubbornly trying to keep shut. Half-lidded and aching, Pikachu turned his gaze to the source of the voice. His eyelids opened slightly more at the sight of a cute little bunny gazing down at him, concern filling her eyes. As his spacial awareness began to return, the electric type realized that his head was resting on the small lap of the rabbit. He swallowed hard, his heart beginning to thrash about as if trying to break free of his chest. His eyes were now widened, his gaze unshifting from Buneary's. Her cute little face, those mesmerizing eyes, they seemed to put him into a trance. They sat staring into the other's eyes for a few moments before Pikachu shook himself of his hypnotism and attempted to sit up. His back hurt but he still tried to pick himself up, however, a rather strong rabbit ear gently pushed him back down.
"Silly thing," Buneary cooed, concern lacing her words, "You have to stay and rest. You really got your tail handed to you by Infernape, there's no way you're not still feeling the backlash of your guys' battle." A pain ridden chuckle escaped the mouse's lips as he looks back up at the normal type.
"Way to make a guy feel tough. Got my tail handed to me, Huh?" A small smirk grew on his face. "I'll have you know I did a number on that flaming cheeto." A caring smile appeared on Buneary's face.
"I'm sure you did, but for now," she giggled, her paw petting the top of the mouse's head, "you need your rest." Pikachu's heart began to race faster and faster still. He couldn't help but stay silent and gaze longingly at the bunny as she continued to talk. "Lauro told me how you got hit with Infernape's dig kick straight to your back. I'm surprised you were even able to stand, let alone keep battling him."
"R-Right." Pikachu stuttered, still entranced at the sight of Buneary. "It was a super effective attack, what with me being an electric type and all." Pikachu sat up, forgetting about his pain for a moment and gazing out towards the battlefield. "But, I couldn't let myself be defeated by a move I'm weak against, and I'm sure that's not how Infernape wanted the battle to end either. Sure, my back might be really damaged, but I wouldn't give that experience up for the world, because Infernape and I both put our all into it."
A smile grew on the mouse's face, thinking about all his history with the fire ape. His thoughts were interrupted, however, when a small pair of arms wrapped around his torso. "B-Buneary...?" His heart, which had slowed for a moment thinking of his friend of many years, quickly began pounding in his chest at the act of being hugged by Buneary.
"You never change, do you Pikachu?" Buneary spoke, voice muffled in the crook of the mouse's neck. Pikachu chuckled in response, his tail subconsciously petting Buneary. He looked up towards the sky, many old memories starting to flooding back.
"Do you remember," Pikachu started, his posture softening into Buneary's embrace, "back when we travelled together when you and Dawn had your first contest? You almost won in the end, but that point system caused you to lose. I was so excited about the whole thing. You and the gang were always cheering for Ash and me when we would battle. That contest was my chance to return the favour." Buneary's response was a nod mixed with her nuzzling further into the crook of Pikachu's neck. He continued to reminisce. "I remember when you won your first contest, I was so proud. Oh and after we saw you guys again after we'd stopped travelling together, I remember Oshawott tried to flirt with you, and he was so disappointed when you hid behind me and wouldn't put up with his shenanigans." Pikachu laughed thinking back on the old memories. But then, he remembered something else. "And I remember..." Buneary looked up at him as he paused, tilting her head.
"I remember that you liked me."

Aaaaaaand that's where we'll leave it. Have fun speculating what you think is gonna go down. How will Buneary react? What does this revelation mean for Pikachu? Will they ever be the same?!?!
Spoiler alert, there's no spoilers coming after this spoiler alert.
Hope you enjoyed this terribly written chapter. I seek validation through random people I've never seen, met or (usually) talked to before clicking the star on my chapters. You should click the star. Stars are pretty. And you, my friend, are just as pretty. Is this how flirting works? Am I doing it right? Does it sound like an innuendo if is say "All I want is for people to validate me" ? IS it an innuendo is I say "All I want is for people to validate me" ? Am I an innuendo? Man, life has so many unanswered questions. Anyways, I'm out. It's my friend's birthday tomorrow. Gonna give them a shittily written, cheap Kmart card as per their request. Peace.
