A/N: This chapter was incredibly different originally but I was watching Harry Potter and this was birthed 🤷🏻♂️

Camila wouldn't admit it to anyone, but she was incredibly nervous. Lauren had the house to herself and had invited her over. It was about time, really, they'd known each other for nearly three months now and yet they'd only ever went to Camila's house.
She didn't even know why she was nervous. It was only going to be her and Lauren. No meeting the parents bullshit for now, thankfully. She'd cross that bridge when she came to it.
So, for several painstakingly long moments, Camila tried to calm her breathing. Anxiety or not, she was always calm and collected and this wasn't going to be any different. Once she was calmer, Camila strode up the few steps to Lauren's porch (she'd already noticed that the Jauregui's house was a lot more friendly, and a little better kept than her own home.) and knocked on the door with a steady rhythm. Afterwards, she stuck her hands into her trusty leather jacket, rocking on her heels slightly whilst she waited for an answer.
She waited patiently, although she was internally praying that Lauren wouldn't take long because otherwise her anxiety was going to flare up, and it would be about tenfold what it was before. Her foot tapped frantically against the light wood of the porch, contrasting with her otherwise calm stature. Lauren really needed to hurry because seconds were starting to feel like lifetimes.
Camila was aware that she probably seemed ridiculous, panicking over such small things. However, her anxiety had always been pretty intense and easily triggered. It was something she hated with every fibre in her being; something she wholeheartedly wished she could change. Her stupid anxiety just made her feel pathetic, that's why she tried to bury it away and was very strict with the pills she needed to take for it.
The younger girl was launched out off her daze when the front door opened, a little creek accompanying it. Camila would normally find something like that irritating, but for some reason it just added to the charm of the house, made it obvious that it had been lived in by a family of five for years. Honestly, it was nice. Camila wished her house had a quality like that of its own.
Instead, it possessed blank, dull walls littered with family photos and memories that just weren't as good as they appeared. She was grateful that Lauren didn't have to deal with something like that, the green eyed girl truly didn't deserve it.
"Hi, Camila," Lauren grinned, gorgeous emerald eyes crinkling in the corners and it made Camila's insides warm. The older girl was truly a beautiful sight to see, especially when she was smiling so brightly it would put all the stars in the sky to shame. She was a vision that Camila would never get tired of seeing; she was so fucking grateful that Lauren actually liked her back.
"Hi, Lauren," Camila rasped, smiling to herself as she felt herself being pulled into a hug, becoming easily engulfed by Lauren's familiar warmth. They both loved being this close to one another, it was nice to feel their hearts beat in sync, allowing them to focus on it as all their doubts, fears and worries slipped away momentarily.
They begrudgingly pulled away after a minute, Camila immediately dropping her hand so she could lace her fingers with Lauren's. She allowed Lauren to drag her around the Jauregui's threshold for a brief house tour, she paid attention to the noirette more than anything but oh well, she'd always have time in the future to become acquainted with the home.
