Deep in the heart of Gotham, Joker and Harley Quinn are alone in their hideout. Harley walks into his office, smiling and humming happily despite the fresh bruises under her nightgown. "Hiya Puddin, what ya up to?" She asks in a sensual voice as she climbs onto the desk, laying in a seductive pose.
"You're in my way again Harley, I don't have time to deal with a stubborn little tramp like you right now, I'm trying to figure out how to kill the Batman." Joker says in an angry voice as he glares at Harley. Harley cringes at his glare, as a twinge of anger flashes in her eyes. "You know i support you Puddin. I'm only tryin ta help ya here." Harley says to her defense. Seeing Joker raise his hand, Harley cringes and falls back onto the floor. She scuffled to the boarded up window that allows them to hide in plane sight, before finally getting to her feet.
Joker's smile turns hateful and evil, more so than usual as Harley's eyes are fill with tears. "I can't take this anymore Puddin, you used to be kinder and gentler with me. Now all you care about is killing B-man, and takin your anger out on me when i don't deserve it. It ends here."Harley says as Jokers eyes fill with even more anger. "You know what Harl? You're right. You have had enough!, Enough of my time and energy that i could've used to kill Batman a hundred times over!" Joker yells making Harley put up her arms defensively. Joker flashes her one more maniacal smile as he lifts his leg and slams it into her exposed torso, sending her smashing through the boarded up second floor window. Harley quickly moves into the fetal position as she falls and lands on the hard pavement of the alley below.
After coming to and looking up, noticing that the light from Joker's office was off, meaning he had went to bed, Harley slowly used the wall to get to her feet, holding her side where her newly re fractured ribs were. She looked up, seeing the light from the street as she made her way toward it. "All i wanted was to have him all to myself, after everything I've given up for him, He goes and does this to me. Not any more." Harley says as she makes it to the street, breathing heavily from her injuries.
After a couple hours, the pain in her side slowly began to start fading. As she kept walking, he mind would travel back to the horrible things she had endured for Joker. She wandered around the streets of Gotham for hours, not knowing where she was going, not even knowing where she could go anymore, now that Joker had ruined her name, not only as a psychologist, but even among most of the villains of Gotham, or even the rest of the world for that matter. None of them wouldn't want to get involved with the Joker because of all the times her had back stabbed them, or Harley by acquaintance.
After a few more hours of wandering around, Harley had found her way all the way across town. She leaned on the wall of the alley, sliding down beside the dumpster as she looked up, continuing to relive every horrible thing Joker had done to her. "So this is what my life has come to, no one to love me, no one to care about me, and no one that will trust me." She said as she looked up at the night sky.
At that moment, the door at the end of the alley opened up, Harley lifted her hand in front of her eyes to shield them from the bright light from inside the building. "Well, well, look who finally shows up on my doorstep after all this time." A familiar female voice said from the doorway as a silhouette emerged and walked toward Harley. "Who are you?" Harley asked as she took in a shallow breath. As the door closed behind her, Harley noticed that the woman who was speaking to her was he old cellmate Poison Ivy.
Ivy made her way to Harley, kneeling at her side as she looked at her with a look of sadness at Harley's obvious injuries. "What happened to you sweaty?" Ivy asked as she moved her hands to inspect Harley's injuries. "Joker kicked me out a window." She said, not holding anything back, she didn't have the energy to hide the ugly truth of what Joker had done to her throughout the years. "Sweaty, why don't you stay with me? I have a spare bed." Ivy said as she offer Harley her arm for support. Harley smiled and took Ivy's arm, as she helped her to her feet.
Once inside, Ivy took Harley upstairs and sat her on the spare bed. "Mind if i take a look?" Ivy asked with a look of sadness in her eyes. She knew the Joker, and she knew Harley's dedication to him. If Harley had actually left Joker, Ivy knew there would be a lot more damage under Harley's uniform. "Might as well Ivy" Harley said wincing and groaning in pain. Ivy walked to the closet, pulling out an oversized t-shirt and a big pair of pajama pants. As she laid them on the bed she moved to Harley.
She moved behind Harley and unzipped her outfit, before helping her slip out of it. Once the outfit was removed, Ivy could see the massive bruises Joker had left on her, not only the recent ones, but it was obvious that Harley had been enduring this since before the last time the two of them were in lock up together, at least. "Sweaty, why would you let him do this to you?" Ivy asked looking up at Harley as her eyes filled with tears. "I loved him. He made me who I am, whoever I am." Harley said as the tears rolled down her cheek. "But I can't and won't take it anymore. It ends here." She added in as stern a voice as she could muster, before wincing and groaning in pain.
"Well, you don't have to put up with it any longer sweety, you can stay here as long as you want, and I'll help you get back on your feet in no time." Ivy said with a kind smile and a light blush. "Thank you Ivy." Harley said as she lunged at Ivy, wrapping her arms around the back of Ivy's neck, clinging to her desperately. tears began to fill Ivy's eyes as she gently wrapped her arms around Harley and embraced her. It had been ages since anyone had been this close to Ivy, more less, willingly. Ivy may have been able to change her kiss from killing to mind controlling, but it was always one or the other. Many times she had wanted to be able to be close to someone again, she thought as she began rocking Harley to sleep.
Once she was well asleep, Ivy gently moved Harley into the bed, and covered her up with a blanket that was draped over a chair close by. She sat at the edge of Harley's bed, looking down at her, as she couldn't help but smile at how peaceful the little sociopath looked when she was sleeping. Instead of getting up and going to her own bed, and risking Harley waking up in a panic, she slipped under the blanket with her and wrapped her arms arms around her. She smiled as Harley moaned in comfort, obviously feeling safe. Ivy didn't know what would happen next, she only knew that she would never let anyone hurt Harley like that again.
