Frisk's POV:

Though the limo was quite pleasant to be in, not to mention it was the first time I'd been in a limo on not-official business, I still couldn't shake this uneasy feeling.

Now, I could have assumed it was from the fact that Chara and Nightmare had terrorized us, which had caused my anxiety to spike, my nightmares to spike, my depression to come back, but it felt like something else.

There was something wrong with the air; I had this unshakable feeling that something odd was going to happen.

Mettaton shook me from my thoughts; literally.

"I know that it's an early morning for someone that's been getting up at noon every day, but darling, this is supposed to cheer you up," Mettaton said with a tad of sadness in his voice.

"Sorry, Metta, I just. . . something is off, I-I can feel it. And I just. . . don't want anything else bad happening, not after what just happened. Not after how hurt everyone still is."

"Has the fancy app that Alphys designed said anything?"

I quickly pulled out my phone and checked, "No, it doesn't detect any abnormalities in the timeline."

"Then don't worry! You dear old friend Mettaton will protect you if anything goes wrong! We all know that Mettaton EX lives, and he will emerge from the shadows if needed!"

His theatricals were too much and I burst out laughing, trying to keep the tears of laughter from forming in my eyes. I hadn't laughed that hard in a long time.

Then, I heard a loud screech of the tires, and the entire limo was thrown to the left. Both Mettaton and I screamed as the limo flipped onto its side, the alarm going off, everything in the back spilling over or moving somehow.

I winced as a few items, most notably a full pop can flew towards me. The impact of the car had already left me feeling sore and bleeding from a few places, but a hurt head, a few buried limbs, and the gas that I could smell was slowly being released only made it all worse.

Mettaton woke up from being knocked out and looked around, and immediately noticed my impending doom.

He crawled over in a theatrical and panicking mess, helping me from under the debris. By the time we both made it out of that limo the sun was setting, presenting the sky in a yellow, orange, red, pink, and purple water painting.

There was a person on the road and I ran over, Mettaton shortly following me.

"Are you okay?" I asked, panicking lacing every word I spoke.

They groaned a little bit and opened their eyes, which widened when they saw me and they jumped back.

"Mom? Where are we?" She asked.

I frowned, "Mom? I-I don't know you, w-we just got into a car crash together. Are you okay, though? You appeared out of nowhere, really."

The person looked horrified, "A car crash? I. . . did I. . . teleport here. . .?"

"Teleport? What?" I was beyond confused at this point. "You aren't from this universe, are you?" I connected the dots.

She looked around a few more times, and then looked back at me, "I don't think so."

I exchanged a quick glance with Mettaton, who looked both confused and concerned at the same time.

I turned my attention back to the girl, who was brushing herself off and holding onto a wound that I couldn't see.

"What's your name?" I asked her.

Her ivy green eyes made a fleeting moment of eye contact, "E-Elaine."

"Elaine?" I took note of that name, "Well, Elaine, we're going to take you to a hospital. That wound doesn't look good." I gestured to the one that was currently bleeding through her closed hand.

She looked down to notice what I had noticed and winced, the pain only sinking in now.

"T-That'd be great," Her smile was gentle but was holding back something dark.

I could sense it, like a secret connection that neither of us understood, or knew about, based on how nervous she was around me. Though, anyone would be worried--

"Alright, a ride is on the way," Mettaton made me flinch as I looked over at him, the phone in his hand communicating that he had indeed called someone.

"A ride? Not the police?" I saw Elaine tense up in my peripheral as I said that.

Mettaton shook his head dramatically, standing up, both Elaine and I following that motion, "We can't involve them in something that could be a multiverse-wide interaction and tragedy."

"Interaction and tragedy?" I frowned slightly.

"Interaction since we've never had someone as normal as Elaine appears, and tragedy since I couldn't think of the simile."

"Wow, that was an impressive explanation," I turned to help Elaine.

"I was told by a few people that I needed to expand my understanding of the world, and so I started with a thesaurus."

I made dead eye contact with him, "Alphys is tutoring you, isn't she?"

Mettaton nodded, "Yeah. . ."

I rolled my eyes, "You're both nerds."

"It appears so," He laughed.

I glanced over to Elaine, who looked like she was having intense and unreasonable flashbacks, just based on how she was staring beyond both Mettaton and I.

"Are you alright, Elaine?" I questioned with worry, "Blood loss starting to get to you?"

"Hmm?" She slowly looked over at me, "Oh, no, I-I'm fine. Just, tired, from being in an accident that. . . makes no sense in the first place, and probably drained from most likely being the cause of it. Heheheh. . ."

I raised an individual eyebrow and a car pulled around the corner. Mettaton stood up, but I tensed up, and so did Elaine. Something was wrong.

And both of us knew it.

A/N: I am so sorry everyone! I haven't updated this since, literally, last year! But this chapter was just. . . really hard for me to write for some reason. Not to mention the last few weeks of school, especially high school (apparently) are hellish before a long break.

I am still getting this out now, though! And hopefully, I will be updating more, even though exam month is coming up. . .

Anyways, have a marvelous day, and stay glitchy my glitches, because those imperfections are beautiful!
