I couldn’t speak. I couldn’t move. I just stood there in utter disbelief and horror. How did he find me? Why is he here? As I tried to find my voice, I studied him, trying to find some sort of reasoning behind him showing up. He looked the same as I had left him, but looking closer I realized something different. He seemed off; crazed in a way, like he wasn’t stable. But this scared me even more. It was bad enough when he was sane, but him being unstable? I shivered.

“Eve?” Harry asked, looking at Eddie. I finally was able to speak.

“Hello, Eddie,” I said, my voice cracking a bit. Harry’s eyes widened and he instinctively grabbed my hand and held on.

“I thought I heard your voice,” Eddie said with a taunting smile.

“Why are you here?” I whispered.

“What do you mean? I’m enjoying London, of course!” he replied, but we both knew he was lying. I could hear the mocking behind his words. Along with the fear, I started to get angry. Eddie took a step closer. “And who might this be? A friend of yours?”

“Something like that,” I mumbled. He kept getting closer and I could feel Harry’s hand tightening its grip on mine. Eddie’s smile was creepy and wild. Now that he was closer, I could plainly see how different he looked. There was definitely something off about him. He looked like a madman.

“Did you get my message?” he asked. I automatically remembered the note he had left on my doorstep.

“Please don’t come any closer,” I demanded. His smile faded and I detected a flash of anger. His eyes were full of malice.

“Were not in Oklahoma anymore, Eve,” he said. He continued to advance towards Harry and I.

“Just stay away from me!” I shouted. Anger was clear on his face and he started to walk faster towards me. I felt myself being jerked back as Harry stepped in front of me.

“I think it would be best if you went home, mate,” said Harry calmly. Eddie stared at Harry with hatred. Something was completely wrong with Eddie. From my experience, although Eddie wasn’t the best tempered guy, he wasn’t so quick to start a fight. This was something new. What happened?

“Get out of my way,” growled Eddie.

“Go home. Clearly, Eve does not want to see or talk to you at the moment.”

“Why don’t you run back to those fucking pansies you call your band mates and get out of my face,” spat Eddie. His fists were balling up and I could tell he was going to get violent soon.

“Harry,” I whispered. “Harry, back off. He’s balling up his fists.” But I could see that Harry was now on the defensive from what Eddie had said about the boys so naturally he retaliated.

“Don’t you dare call them pansies! Get out of here, yeah? Eve doesn’t want to see you!” Before I could even make sense of it, Eddie ran up and punched Harry right in the face. Harry stumbled a little, holding his cheek. Eddie advanced for Harry again.

“No! Eddie, stay away from him!” I screamed running over to Harry and throwing myself in between them. Just then, Eddie raised his arm and smacked me right across the face with all the force he could muster. I fell onto the ground, my hands shooting in front of me to break the fall. I just laid there, dazed and in shock. I heard a few shouts and the sound of footsteps briskly walking away. Then, someone touched my shoulder. I didn’t respond. I was still in shock.

“What just happened?” I heard an unfamiliar voice ask.

“Who was that that ran away?”

“Are you guys alright?”
