I was suspicious of those two. I saw the way they looked at each other, all the time. I knew Nico would never admit it, but I could always get at least something out of Karolina.
"What were you talking to Karolina about back there?" Molly asked.
"Oh, you know. Just talked to her about what was going down tonight," I lied.
"Oh. Why couldn't I listen?"
"Molly, listen here. You're still pretty young, and you wouldn't understand a lot of the stuff that's been happening with our parents."
"Oh come on Gert! You're only a few years older than me! That's not even a fair explanation."
Molly frowned at me, but I just ignored her. Things were always like this with her. Sure she was adopted, but I always felt like she had always been there, and she never failed to annoy me on a daily basis. We walked in silence to our house.
When we arrived, we went to our room, and unpacked our things and started packing for Alex's house.
"So, what's up with you and Chase?," Molly asked.
"Shut up M. There's nothing between us. He doesn't like me."
"And how do you know that? You barely even talk to him anymore! You should at least try tonight. Who knows! Maybe something grand will happen."
"Oh shut up Moll! There's no reason for you to be thinking like that right now."
I picked up a pillow and playfully threw it at her. She tried to duck, but it hit her square in the face. I laughed. It had been a while since I'd laughed. I know I said Molly annoyed me on a daily basis, but man could she make me smile too.
