'Was this my fourth or fifth drink?"
Everything around me seemed to be spinning and I could feel vomit creeping up from my stomach at that moment.Nonetheless, I brought my cup outside and trudged wobbly into the backyard to meet Daniel and Lily dancing.
"Heyyyy guys! How is-s it g-going?" I shimmied my body in between them.
"Dakota are you feeling okay?" Lily put a hand on my forehead.
"I think," Daniel came a bit closer to me, "She's drunk."
"Drunk?" She yelled in shock. "God Dakota! I think it's time for us to go."
"Wait," Daniel grabbed Lily's arm, "One more song and I promise I'll let you go."
She smiled softly at him, "Fine." She swiftly turned her head towards me, "Please, please, please try to find Aiden so we can leave."
"Alright!" I threw my hands in the air and spilled some of my punch on the couple.
"Dakota!"
I made my way back into the house, tipsy, and looked for Aiden.
I saw him in the living room with the baseball team crowding the coffee table. As I got closer I tried to make out what they were all saying. Justin was telling some story about Aiden pitching at a game last year, but stopped once he saw me.
"Dakota! Looks like you've been partying it up!"
Aiden stood up right away and rushed to my side. "I think you've had one too many drinks," He laughed slightly.
"Sorry guys, gotta go but we'll definitely play a game of ball soon," he saluted and we met with Lily at the front door.
"Lily, I think you're gonna have to drive. Dakota obviously can't and I drank a couple cups also." He informed her as he kept me steady on my feet.
"Seriously guys! Last time I drove a car was my at my driving test. That was about a year and a half ago!"
"Well either you drive or we get in the possibility of a car crash," Aiden argued with his sister.
She opened the door and mumbled, "If you guys hadn't drank the punch in the first place and chosen water instead, we wouldn't have either of those choices."
We approached the vehicle and Lily asked for my keys. Both Aiden and I sat - well Aiden did while I laid on him and was on the verge of throwing up - in the backseat.
"You doing okay?" Aiden noticed the sudden groan I made when Lily hit a bump.
"Are we almost home?"
"Yeah, we're turning onto our street right now," He tittered.
"Alright, Aiden take her to the bathroom and grab her phone. Text her mom, let her know that she's staying the night at our house." Lily ordered him before she hopped out of the car.
"Aye aye captain. Come on Dakota."
He guided me to their bathroom and I handed him my phone. I immediately sat next to the toilet with Aiden following suit.
"Did you guys play spin the bottle with the girls in the living room?" I asked before gagging a little.
Aiden quickly pulled my hair out of the way and answered, "The team did but I stayed behind. And surprisingly, Justin didn't join either."
"Oh good," I replied with drowsiness in my words.
Lily slipped into the bathroom for a minute, "Keep an eye on her Aiden, I gotta get her some clothes to change into. Be quiet too, I think Mom and Caelin are asleep." She then left and hurried up to her room.
