We're All We Have Left

Ivy

It had been a few days since Omen and Hollow had gone on a mission without the team. They were helping Batman teach them stealth and planning while also sparring with each team member at Black Canary's request. Only one of them would spar with each team member at a time but they were still formidable opponents.

No one had won against them yet, neither of them had even tried for any of the fights, the heroes weren't at that level yet. Danny and Richard were currently at home watching a movie since they had nothing to do at the moment. Danny eventually got lost in his thoughts and he thought about what happened after he was killed, after he became a halfa.

He had stumbled out of the machine, the inside of the damn contraption was sparking because it had blown up with him inside. It wasn't bad enough for him to be seriously hurt, just a few burns and scratches but it hurt to move because of the electricity. Danny got to the entrance of the machine before he collapsed and saw the scientists smirk.

Danny didn't know what they had done to him and, in a way, neither had the scientists. One of the guards was called to take Danny back to his cell and the guard practically dragged him along. Once the guard opened the door he threw Danny inside before closing the door with a scowl on his face.

Richard saw Danny and ran over to him before seeing that his hair was white and he felt like crying. Richard laid Danny's head in his lap and waited for his poor friend to wake up. After over an hour Danny opened his eyes and Richard noticed that when he woke up he started to glow.

A few tears escaped his eyes, "What did they do to you?"

Danny managed to sit up and he looked Richard in the eye, "I passed out before I could find out, what is it?"

Richard grabbed a small mirror they had and he gave it to Danny, as soon as he saw what he looked like he froze before dropping the mirror. "Oh my god, they killed me, they fucking killed me, they turned me into a ghost."

Richard hugged Danny, "I'm so sorry Danny."

Danny hugged Richard back as tears streamed from his eyes, "I didn't want to die, I wanted to live." That was when two white rings appeared and Danny turned back to normal, Richard saw and he was shocked.

"Danny, what did you just do?"

Danny was confused before his black hair fell in front of his eyes, he grabbed the mirror and he was back to normal. Danny thought for a second before he checked to see if he had a pulse, his heart was still beating. Danny thought about the feeling when he changed and he changed once again, he checked for a pulse, nothing.

Danny thought while he was in his ghost form, "Maybe they didn't really kill me, maybe something else happened."

Richard looked slightly confused, "What do you mean?"

"I checked my pulse when I looked like I did before and after I changed again. I had a pulse before but now it's gone, maybe they didn't kill me, maybe they only half killed me, maybe the electricity did something weird."

That's how they came up with a theory, the theory that Danny was half dead. They hid his living half from everyone else, as well as Danny's glow and his powers which they soon discovered he had. After running into a ghost in the park they called him a halfa and helped him learn to control his powers.

For four years they stayed there, the experiments and torture got so much worse, Danny barely survived a few times. Everything got even worse when he was thirteen, that was when he was told to kill someone. Danny had refused, even after they threatened Richard, Danny was thrown in his cell and they took Richard.

After over an hour they threw Richard inside and Danny ran over to his friend, he took care of Richard's wounds while he cried. He said how sorry he was over and over again, it was his fault that this happened to Richard. When Richard finally woke up Danny said he was sorry yet again and told Richard what happened.

Richard didn't blame Danny but the halfa still blamed himself, his only friend was hurt because of him. Every month they would try to make Danny kill someone and he'd refuse over and over again. Right as they were about to take Richard for the twelfth time, a whole year of trying to get him to kill, he finally snapped.

He kicked the guard in the face and he grabbed Richard's hand before the two of them ran. They ran from the facility as fast as they could and they managed to escape, neither of them could believe it. That was when they came up with the names Omen and Hollow, that was when they became informants.

Danny didn't realize that his hold on Richard's hand became tighter and Richard look at Danny. He got worried and Richard hesitated for a split second, "Danny."

Danny blinked a few times before he remembered what was going on, "Sorry, I got lost in thought."

Richard hugged him, "What was it this time?"

Danny looked away for a second, "The last four years in the facility."

Richard looked at Danny sadly, "It wasn't your fault, none of it was your fault Danny." Danny didn't say anything, he just buried his face in Richard's shoulder and Richard hugged Danny tighter. They only let go when they saw that it was time to head to the mountain, once they were ready they left.

Not long after they got there Batman showed up and they went to meet him, Omen and Hollow knew what was going on. Batman spoke, "You have a mission, Poison Ivy is hiding outside of Gotham City, you need to catch her and bring her to the police." They all nodded and went to get ready, Omen grabbed Hollow's hand when they were in the living room.

"Ĉi tio povus esti danĝera, vi devus preni iujn el la armiloj." (This could be dangerous, you should take some of the weapons.)

Hollow looked Omen in the eye, "Bone, simple ne faru ion temerara." (Okay, just don't do anything reckless.) Omen smiled and nodded, he gave Hollow a sword, a gun, and the two knives that went on his forearms. Omen kept one sword, one gun, and the hunting knife strapped to his back, a few minutes later they left for the mission.

The young heroes wondered why Hollow now had some of the weapons Omen normally carried but they didn't say anything. When they finally got to where Poison Ivy was they looked around, she was hiding out in a large greenhouse. It was a broken and falling apart a bit but it worked well enough for her plants that she no doubt had inside.

Aqualad looked at Omen and Hollow, "Do you have a plan in mind for this?"

Hollow crossed his arms, "Let me hear what you think we should do?"

Aqualad thought for a second, "We could sneak in from the roof, she wouldn't see us coming."

Omen hummed, "Not bad, there's just one problem, the roof is unstable, it might be able to hold a few people but not all of us."

Red Arrow looked at them, "Then what should we do?"

Hollow smirked, "That's quite simple, we'll cause a diversion, a few people will head in to get Ivy's attention, the rest will sneak up on her and take her down." The team was divided into two groups, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Artemis, and Superboy were going to distract Ivy.

Omen, Hollow, Red Arrow, and Megan would sneak up on her and catch her, the second group would head to the roof since Megan could fly. The roof would be able to hold three of them so each group got ready to move and they waited for a minute.

Aqualad and his team charged inside and Ivy had her plants attack them, Omen gestured for everyone to wait. After he was sure Ivy was distracted he signaled for them to go, he and Hollow fell through two holes in the roof. The two took out their swords and began to cut the plants as they got closer to Ivy, she was just about to react when Red Arrow shot at her.

The two smirked as she once again tried to stop them, that was when Megan got behind her and knocked her out. Omen and Hollow put their swords away and they had smiles of approval on their faces. Omen put his hands in his pockets, "Now that's what I call teamwork."

Hollow nodded, "Good job young heroes, now let's hand Ivy over and get the fuck out of here." Omen contacted the police and after a bit the police showed up, by that time the group of teens had already started heading to the ship. Hollow tossed the weapons to Omen while they were walking and Omen strapped them back on.

When they got back to the bio-ship they flew back to the mountain, Omen and Hollow were smiling a bit. The team was finally working together, this was long overdue.
