Our hushed voices, Daniel and I, behind the screening room of our local cinema.
"Tell her. Go ahead and see what happens when you do."
"You bastard. Why? Why this now?"
"Why does this matter to you? You should stay out of shit that doesn't concern you."
"She's my best friend that's why. And she deserves the truth." I snarl, my face contorting in disgust. "And if you think you can walk all over her, you should think again-"
Daniel cuts me off, clearly letting my words pass him by. "Look, you know her well don't you? Rose?" He pauses. "Then you know how much this would break her."
I scoff. "What's your point then, Asshole?"
"We both don't want to break her, right? So keep this a secret between us. Until I fix it, atleast."
"And why would I do that?"
His voice was bitter. His words leaving a sour feeling in my throat as he spat at me. "You know why. Wouldn't want you slipping, Hun?"
And with that, he shoves his hands in his pockets and walks off into the abyss of the theater's darkness.
The sad part about it was, I knew what he meant.
