Dear Rose,

You were silent again today, though your eyes screamed emotions. You were always readable no matter how hard you tried to conceal whatever it was that you felt.

Your marbled eyes spoke often, even if your small lips were sealed shut.

There was Daniel, on the other side of the room, his exterior unfazed as he conversed with others as they flocked around him like dumb pigeons near a food spillage.

You bit your lip again—you were nervous.

How he couldn't see that you were a national treasure, baffled me. How he continued to live dangerously; walking over your heart, was unfathomable.

You stood up suddenly, fists slamming on the table. I had never seen you outburst as such before.

You walked out of that cafeteria and all eyes followed.

I didn't follow you, however. But now I'm starting to think that I should have.
