Chapter 10

Niall's PoV.

My confusion builds higher as Louis starts to whisper things to the sobbing mess in his arms while the second man rubs his back. I stand there awkwardly for a few minutes, not sure what to do. Louis looks at me with sympathetic eyes and motions for me to sit down.

I do as he wishes, sitting on the free side of Louis, but at a small distance. The other man looks up from the crying person, and smiles sadly. After 5 minutes, the crying person in Louis' arms calms down a bit. They get up, and sit between Louis and the second man. Now that I can see both strangers, i take time to look over their appearance.

The guy that was crying has short-ish brown hair that looks curly. His eyes are red from crying, but I can still see the emerald green. The second man has shorter brown hair then the first, with big brown eyes that -despite his strong demeanor- make him look so innocent. Both men also have various tattoos.

After one look in their eyes, I see what they are. Brown eyes is a Fairy. Greenie is a cat/human hybrid, and it's only now that i see the cat ears that sit upon his head, being the same colour as his hair.

The guy with green eyes looks towards me.

"Who are you?" he sniffled, whipping his eyes.

"Uh... Niall, his dorm mate," I gestured to Louis. "Should I go?"

He just shakes his head. "I've been wanting to meet you for a while, these just aren't the circumstances I was hoping for." He chuckles sadly while sniffling before introducing him and his friend.

"I'm Harry, he's Liam." Harry points to the guys beside him. Harry and Liam, Louis' friends.

"Haz, why were you crying?" Louis asks cautiously. Harry's bottom lip visibly trembles before silent tears pour down his face.

"He-He broke up with me!" Harry cries out. Wait... he? "With a fucking text message!"

Louis stands up and paces the room, looking livid, Liam has an unreadable expression while I'm, still, very confused.

"That son of a bitch! What an ass! When I see that fuck face I'm going to rip his fucking throat out!!" Louis roars, his fists clench. Harry curls into Liam's side as they look up at him surprised. I've never seen him this mad, I need to do something.

"Lou." I stand up and walk over to him gingerly. I place a hand on his shoulder, causing him to whip around to face me where I'm met with his empty black eyes. "Louis you need to calm down, ok?"

"How can i calm down?! That ball less fucker-" Louis starts to shout again, so i grab his chin, my dominant side showing.

"Louis! Calm down for Harry, ok?" Louis looks at me, his eyes slowly turn back to their normal blue. Louis visibly relaxes as he takes deep breaths. I understand that he's upset, but he needs to be calm for a bit. "You good?"

"Yeah yeah, sorry..." Louis sighs and rubs his face. "I'll go make tea for all of us. Be right back."

When Louis is in the kitchen, I sit down on the couch. Louis has gotten protective over me when people try and hurt me when he's not around. I've learned how to calm him down, thankfully.

"That... was fast." Liam says softly, stroking Harry's hair. I just chuckle lightly, turning to face them.

"If... if you don't mind me asking... why did he get so mad? I mean i know he would get angry, but that much..?" I ask gingerly, not wanting to set Harry off again.

"I finally found someone I was happy with, he was my boyfriend for 2 years. Then 2 months ago, I found out he cheated on me, and has been cheating on me. I forgave him. And-and he texted me that he didn't want me anymore." Harry's lip trembles again, so I jump into action, and wrap my arms around him.

I know I just met Harry, but I already care about him, him and Liam. Liam smiles at me sadly before walking into what I assume is the kitchen with Louis.

"Louis' always been so protective over Liam and I. As kids, we were picked on, and Louis stopped that. We've learned to defend ourselves, but he stills lets his big brother side show." Harry chuckled sweetly. "Especially when I get a boyfriend."

Hmm... so Louis isn't homophobic. I assumed wrong. "Louis has told me about you, and how he hates seeing people go after you."

I don't know what to say. I don't like acting like I can't protect myself, because god only knows that if I really wanted to, I could kill them. I sigh at the thought, I don't want to hurt anyone, and I was always told my true form has to stay hidden.

Liam and Louis walk back into living room, each caring 2 mugs of tea. I move over so Louis can sit next to Harry while i sit at the end. I can tell these guys are going to be good friends.

Hey! I just realized I don't know the name of Harry's ex boyfriend. I guess it doesn't matter, and I probably shouldn't ask.

"Haz....." Louis sighs, "I'm sorry for freaking out so much earlier... I just know you really liked him and... breaking up over text is such a douche bag move."

"It's fine. I think I'm already getting over him. I have eyes on someone else now." Harry winks over at me, taking me by surprise. Soon all 3 of them burst out laughing as if Harry wasn't just bawling his eyes out.

"I'm joking Niall. I just want to be friends." Harry clarifies, making me let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"And even if you weren't joking, my little Irish here is straight." Louis messes up my hair, chuckling at the pout i give him. Harry raises an accusing eyebrow at me as if he already knows the truth.

I chuckle nervously, scratching the back of my neck as I look anywhere but the 3 boys in front of me. I know Louis isn't homophobic -or at least not to Harry- so I think I should be able to tell them.

"Yeah uh... about that...."
