Jughead's POV

Today is going to be one of the scariest, yet happiest nights of my life. Today, I Jughead Jones the third, will propose to the love of my life, Betty Cooper (Who will soon hopefully be Betty Jones)

It's Betty's twenty-fourth birthday today, and I want it to be special, especially since this is the night I'm going to pop the question. Betty's family is hosting a party for her at their house, because they hadn't seen Betty and I since we moved to New York together to persue Betty's journalism career, and my career as an author.

Betty and I had come back to visit Riverdale this week, so we could spend some time with our friends and family before Betty's birthday celebration. I also wanted to come to Riverdale early so I could ask for Mr and Mrs Cooper's blessing, so there wouldn't be a huge fight during the party. I had asked Ronnie to take Betty out to go shopping, or something they would usually do, because I needed to ask Betty's parents without Betty being there. Veronica happily agreed to keep her busy, while I enter "The Belly of the Beast."

The day before Betty's birthday, Veronica knocked on the Cooper's front door, which is where Betty and were staying while we were visiting. Betty was still upstairs, and I was on the sofa in the living room, so I answered it for her, glad that I could open it, so I could get a chance to talk to Ronnie before Betty came down.

"Hey there Beanie Boy! Come here!"

Veronica said, as she walked up to me,and gave me a big hug.

"Hey Veronica! How are you! and how is Archie doing?"

I responded, letting go of Veronica's tight embrace.

"We are both doing very well! And I'm guessing that you and Betty are as well?"

She answered, as I was very nervous, and she could tell.

"We are great! I'm glad to hear you and Arch are doing well. Anyways, you know the plan right?"

I said, letting Veronica in, trying to hide my nervousness.

"I sure do! And you are getting me to do this so you can talk to the Cooper's right?"

She responded, being sure to whisper, because we heard Betty moving around upstairs.

"Yes, and speaking of which, I NEED you to tell me when you are bringing Betty back, so I can tell you if I need more time... Anyways, I hear Betty, so act natural, and pretend this conversation went differently, and we were catching up, ok?"

I whispered, and she nodded her head yes.

"Good, no..."

I tried to continue, but was cut off by a scream.

"Ronnie!"

Betty shouted as she practically ran down the stairs

"B!"

Veronica squealed, obviously overjoyed to see Betty again.

They met each other halfway, and hugged each other, jumping up and down, being very happy to see each other.

"Ok, I know we have a lot to catch up on, but we have to go now, or else we'll be late getting our nails done! And I am NOT missing that appointment, and neither are you. So, sorry to cut things short Jug, But I'll catch up with you later. Let's go B! We wouldn't want to be late, now would we!"
