A Rising Dawn

Chapter 5 (Part 2)

I'm laying down. I could feel grass beside me. I open my eyes only to find someone staring at me from above. The moon shined on the back of their head, shadowing their face. I try to scurry to my feet, a sudden pain shot through my body. The player forced me back down. I open my mouth to call something but he puts his hand over my mouth.

"Shh. Don't speak!" A female voice says. Wait... This dude was a chick! Eh..? She looks up and I notice brown hair and a pink shirt with rainbow gloves. Oh my god... It's iHasCupquake. She looks down at me and drags me underneath a tree.

"They did a number on you..." Her voice was soft but worried. I feel her hand touch my stomach. "W-Why..." I manage to say. I slowly try to sit up, an even worse pain shot through me. Resting myself against the tree, I look down. An arrow was shot strait through my side, two in my left leg, and one in my right. Blood surrounded the arrows. My eyes widened. "Oh my... god..." My voice quivers. "Wh... When..." I gulp. "H-How?!" I ask, turning towards Cupquake. The pain shot through my body and I manage to loose my balance and fall forwards. Desperately trying to catch myself, I inflict more pain on myself.

"Careful!" Cupquake helps me regain my balance. "I'll tell you everything, just calm down!" She huffs. I calm down and she sits beside me. "You were running when I saw you. The thing that was chasing you gave up. But a girl with white hair and an orange sweater came floating down infront of you. She got in your face, and you tried to fight back but... She flew back and shot an arrow in your knee." She mumbles. I look back down at the arrow in my left leg.

"She yelled, 'Kneel human! Kneel!' and kept shooting you. You... got up and tried heading for the trees but thats when she shot you in the side. I snapped back to reality and shot at her. I got that pathetic demon in the shoulder. She fled moments after." She says with triumph. I rip a arrow out of my leg.

"She isn't a demon... She's my cousin." I say with hatred. I rip another arrow from my knee. I look up at Cupquake's confused face. "Y-You mean... That thing is your cousin? I-I'm sorry!" She exxclaims, keeping her voice down. I look at her sympathetically. "Hey, why are you appologizing? You were saving my ass." I chuckle. One thing that confuses me is that... I don't remember it at all. "Hey," I start, "did I at any point die before I woke up?" I ask quietly.

Cupquake stared at me for a moment. "No... Why?" She asks. "Well... It's just... I don't remember fighting my cousin." I say, ripping another arrow from my leg. She looks at me sympathetically, but doesn't say anything.

She gets up and lends out a hand. I take it and pull myself up with her aid. She puts my arm around her as she helps me through the woods. I don't bother arguing as I limp along with her.

"So... when did you get sucked in?" I ask, "I-I don't mean to pry." I stutter. She looks at me and smiles, "About when the new update came out, so about 3 months ago minecraft time." She says. I don't bother doing the math, so I keep walking. "I'm Cupquake by the way. I... I don't remember my actual name, but I do remember the name everyone calls me. I glance at her with sympathy. "I'm Brody." I say quietly.

"Hm. Nice name." She says, smiling. She looks up, "Brody... I like it." She says quietly. We keep walking until I feel my legs feel alot more pain. I try not to show it, but when I take a few steps, I colapse. I land on my knees, and they hurt even more, so I lie on my good side. "Brody!" She calls. "C'mon! Get up... There's monsters around here." She whispers. I try to get up, but I groan. I attempt to get up, but I fail. The pain increases.

Clink. Clink, Clank.

I curse. Cupquake must've heard it too. "Run!" I moan. She looks at me worriedly. "No!" She screams. She pulls out her sword and-

An arrow passes right throught her chest. Another flies and peirces the back of her head. Another hits her shoulder and she falls beside me. The white end of the arrow an inch away from my face. "No!" I groan. My wounds burned as I attempt to get to my feet.

Clank, Clink. The sound comes nearer. A figure comes from the shadows. A bow in it's hand and an arrow in the other. I look up, only to be greeted by a skeleton. I cringe, but something stops it. A strange creature steps forward. It had a torn up robe and a dark skin tone. It's eyes were red. A sleve from the robe was torn off and red patterns marked it's arm.

My eyes widen when he walked up to the body of Cupquake. Shouldn't she be regenerating?! The man walks up to her and steps on her shoulder. "Go back to spawn." The man mutters. His deep voice making me uneasy. Then... he crushes her... Her body becomes a pile of white ashes that fly up in the air and heads in a dirrection. The man looks down at me. He beds down closer so he could look at me. His red eyes glaring at mine.

"Huh, blue eyes. Pathetic humans... Always getting themselves killed." He sneers. As soon as he said that line... I knew he was a demon. "What about you... You were human once too." I growl weakly. I let out a loud cough and I turn my head towards the ground, coughing into the grass. "A human once?" The man glares at me. "I was never a human." He stands up.

"I am a Dream Walker. And I... Am your worst nightmare." He chuckles.
