"what's your name girl?" Dakota asked as they ran full speed to the doors and freedom. she stopped dead in her tracks from fear that was written clear on her face.
"Sophie sir." she said timidly, surprised and unsure of the attention she was getting over the boys. most girls and women were ignored in a lot of the vampire society, servants included.
"come sit with us girls Sophie. we are much nicer than those stinky boys.' Acacia said patting the hay in between her and Satina. looking nervously at the boys who were opening the door and slipping through to freedom. they bolted suddenly, leaving her alone at their mercy. with little choice she slowly walk to the hay bales and sat in between Acacia and Satina rigidly. as she walked Devlin bolted the doors closed.
"Dakota, Acacia explanation please." James asked confusion clear on his face as he took up a spot against the door.
"Sophie can you hold you hand out and close your eyes for me please." Acacia smiled at the frightened girl. doing as she was asked, Sophie held her left hand out and closed her eyes, clearly trying to keep them from shaking too much. placing her right hand four inches above Sophie's a dim white light began to flicker and thrive. taking his own hand Dakota also placed his hand near Acacia's and Sophie's. the light began to change and grow. it went from a white to a deep turquoise and flickered rapidly. opening her eyes Sophie was shocked at what she saw never having see n something like it before.
"what is that?" she asked in aw. Acacia and Dakota took their hands away and the light faded away into nothing as she continued to watch.
"its called fey light, it lets other fey know what you are and so you can tell what they are too. when your in a camp it can tell you how powerful other fey are too. didn't your parents teach you about it?" Acacia asked going through a list of possible parents for her in her head and the reasons why she would be in there now and not with them. their were so many possibilities though that the list was endless.
"no they at home and auntie Lana doesn't really care what i do as long as i don't have my own kids." Sophie said actually cheerful. Lana.... she was the Ferrier's oldest son's wife. she just had two young twins so she must be having a difficult time, but she wasn't fey and neither was her husband's family.
"ma'am is your name Acacia? oops." Sophie said curiously before realizing what she'd done. surprised they all sat for a moment taking in what Sophie had said.
