Nana's POV

I slowly wake up, not realizing at first that what had happened in my dream was just that, a dream. Groggily, my eyes flutter open and my breathing quickens. The sunshine shows softly through the curtainless window, casting a beam across the bed. It's really warm so I almost doze off again. Then I remember.

Shit.

I burst out of bed and fly over to my dresser, quickly putting matching underwear. Sometimes, a confidence boost is needed. Especially when it's the first day at a new school in Seoul, nonetheless. Sadly, I could not convince mother to stay in our old district because she had her heart set on a new job in the city...and the sparkling new car that came with it.

While lost in my thoughts, I managed to get dress quickly. Glancing in the mirror, I sigh. It could be worse, I guess. The color....isn't my first choice but it isn't so bad. Dark green is much better than the orange I used to wear.

Glancing at the clock, I realize I don't have to rush. Slowly, I walk downstairs to have breakfast despite having no appetite due to my nerves. I manage to force down some grapes and water before I pack my bag.

"I literally have no idea what to take," I complain to my mother.

I continue cramming things in my bag as she replies, "Just take what you normally would. It's just a new school sweetie."

I groan, "But there's going to be so many new people and just..."

She cuts me off, "I understand but it'll be exactly the same as your old school. You'll make a few friends, don't worry."

I breathe in deeply and release the air slowly by blowing through my mouth. Even she knows I didn't have many friends at my old school...

"You're right. Sorry for worrying you," I manage to say without sounding sad.

She looks at me in surprise, "Well, I'm glad that I could help," she smiles warmly at me.

At School

I walk into the classroom slowly, making sure I double checked the number as I walked in. There's only a few other kids in here so it's not too terrifying yet. The teacher smiles at me and waves me over to his desk.

"You must be Nana, right?" he says after we do introductory bows.

"Yes," I reply. I do a mini celebration in my head because I did not stutter.

"Okay well your assigned seat is in the way back in the left corner," he gestures to my new seat, "Sorry it's so far, it's the only empty seat I have. If you have any vision problems, I can move you up closer," he smiles.

"Oh, n-no, I'll be able to see just fine," I stammer a bit and mentally slap myself.

"Are you able to introduce yourself or would you like me to..." he trails off, obviously noticing I was nervous.

I take a deep breath and reply, "I can do it myself."

"Alright," he smiles and glances at the clock. "You might as well stay up here then, the bell is about to ring."

"Okay," I force a smile back and turn to face the class. My eyes widen as I take in how many people came in. Almost every single desk is filled, just mine and the one right beside me is empty. The bell rings and my breath catches in my throat. My heart begins to beat faster and faster and my throat dries. Everyone looks at me expectantly. Shit.
