ddlovato : This is our life now; messy beds and a perfect tiny human... I am so over the moon to be introducing you all to Pearl Jane Valderrama.

'Taco bell for my love.' Wilmer says smiling as he makes his way into the bedroom where Demi is propped up in bed, a tiny bundle curled up on her chest.

'Mmm... You're the best!' She replies smiling up at him. Keeping one hand on the baby's back she uses her other one to pull her food out of the bag.

'How are you feeling?' He asks sitting down on the edge of the bed.

'Like I've been hit by a bus.' She mumbles as he leans forward and kisses the top of her head.

'Do you need more paracetamol?' He asks and she shakes her head.

'No, I'll be okay. What time is it?' She asks yawning and glancing over at the window where the sun is peeping through the curtains.

'A little after 1.' He replies.

'I should get out of bed and put some clothes on, shouldn't I?' She says and he shakes his head.

'No; you had a baby one week ago and it was rough, Dems. You could spend the next two months in bed, wearing pyjamas if you want.' He replies causing her to smile.

'It was rough, wasn't it?' She says and he nods his head.

'I hope you know I'm never going through that again... I mean she was so worth it but I am never doing that again.' She adds.

'That's perfectly okay with me.' He says.

'Remember I said I wasn't going to spoil my baby by holding her all the time but I really don't want to put her down.' She admits causing him to smile.

'Honestly, I don't think you can spoil a baby by cuddling her. She's not going to be little forever, Dems.' He says.

'I know but I just- I read online that if you constantly hold the baby and rock them to sleep they won't learn to self-settle.' She replies biting her bottom lip.

'I think she'll be just fine, Demi. She's going to grow up knowing that she's going a mom who loves her and she will eventually learn to settle herself but for now she doesn't have to.' He says and she nods her head.

'Stop doubting yourself, nena... Follow your instincts.' He says.

'I get to love you, it's the best thing that I'll ever do. I get to love you, it's a promise I'm making to you.'

Demi sings softly as she keeps Pearl cradled against her chest while swaying slightly from side to side. Turning around she smiles slightly as she sees Sirah leaning against the doorframe.

'Wilmer let me in.' Sirah says as Demi begins to make her way towards her.

'How are you feeling?' Sirah asks.

'Tired, but good.' Demi replies smiling.

'I'm so happy for you, Demi.' Sirah says.

'Do you want to hold her?' Demi asks.

'Please.' Sirah replies smiling. Moving closer Demi carefully places Pearl in Sirah's arms.

'Oh my goodness... She's so tiny!' Sirah says softly staring down at the infant in her arms as Demi moves to sit down on the edge of the bed.

'She doesn't fit into any of her newborn clothes; that's a premmie sleepsuit.' Demi replies as Sirah adjusts Pearl in her arms.

'Really? What's been the hardest part?' Sirah asks.

'The nursing; she just seems to want to feed constantly. I thought the tiredness would be really bad and at times it definitely is but I know I'm not going to get a good night's sleep for next week months, maybe even years so I've accepted that.' Demi replies smiling.

'Have you taken her out yet?' Sirah asks and Demi shakes her head.

'I just worry that she's too tiny and vulnerable. I don't want her to get the cold or something.' Demi replies shrugging her shoulders.

'And how's Wilmer doing?' Sirah asks.

'He's amazing. I genuinely don't think I could've got through the past week without him.' Demi replies smiling.

'You okay?' Wilmer asks glancing at Demi who begins to make her way downstairs.

'Mmm... How do you fancy that walk?' Demi says.

'Really?' He asks and she nods her head.

'Yeah; I can't wrap her up in cotton wool for all her life, can I?' She says.

'I'll sort the stroller.' He replies smiling.

'Thank you.' She says. Within ten minutes Pearl is sorted in her stroller, all bundled up against the cold as Demi pushes the stroller out the front door.

'Your first walk outside, baby girl.' Demi says softly as she glances in the stroller. She stands at the end of the path as Wilmer locks the front door and gets the dogs sorted.

'Ready?' He asks and she nods her head.

'Ready.' She replies smiling.
