While the night may disguise the clouds, nobody can deny that they're not there. Even when they cannot be seen, you can tell simply because that is what you're used to. We all know that the clouds are there because that is what we all have seen for ourselves when the sun was casting its last rays upon the earth for the night. But on nights that there's not a trace in the sky, we still think they are there. Why? Because it's what we're used to seeing while our view is still being illuminated. But when the moon stays clear the entire night, nobody suspects that the sky was clear. I suppose proving and knowing are two different things. We all know many things, but we can't prove it. Our reason is that it's obvious, common knowledge, even a child knows. But really, we don't know. We don't know a god damn thing. We never look up at the sky, we stare at the sunset and judge from there. However, the sunset is only the sunset, not the night. One thing is not the other, but you always know about one based on the former. But you don't know, do you? No one ever knows. We just stare at our feet when the moon rises, assuming we know how the night is going to be tonight. But we never truly do. Knowing isn't being positive, it's more speculation than anything. After all, what do we truly know with our limited, narrow conception of all things? Not a damn thing. Not an inkling, not a notion. Not anything.
