I'm making my way to maths class. If it wasn't for Emmanuel showing me around, I was going to be lost now. I enter the class and there are some learners already in the class. I take my in the front of the class and wait for the teacher. The warning bell rings and a lot of learners make their way in to the class. Still there is no teacher. She arrives ten minute later.

"Sorry I'm late. Take out your books and wait for my next instruction." She informs the class, more like order it to do so. "Before I continue with the lesson, we have a new learner here, her name is Raven Brown." She says as she is settling in. She turns her attention to the class " can you please stand?" She asks. I stand up and she smiles. "There she is. Welcome Raven, I'm sure you've already settled in and kind of know how things works around her." I return her smile and nod. "I'm still learning." I say as I take my seat.

"When the bell rings for home time, I'd like to talk to you." She says. "Okay mam." I respond. She gets to the lesson. She just did the basics of algebra. Only the easy stuff. There's just like five minutes before the bell rings. "I'm not going to give you homework today" she says and she gets a whole lot of 'yes's' "you should thank Raven." She finishes.

The bell rings and the class is empty in like a minute. I make my way to her desk and wait for her to start talking. "I was looking through your records and I saw that you get high marks. I would like you to tutor someone for me please." She says. I'm kinda shocked. I'm new here and I have to tutor someone already. I wonder who that person is. I hope its not someone that is popular.

"Okay, who?" I ask. "He'll be here soon." She says. He? I thought it was a she. How am I going to deal with a he? I'm sure that 'he' has a huge ego like other guys. I hope he's nice. "Sorry I'm late." Someone says from the door. I look to the door and see a very attractive boy. He has blue eyes, light brown hair. He had this bad boyish look to him. He has a pair of blue jeans on, a black T-shirt and black leather jacket.

That looks hot. "Raven this is Martin Digger. This is who you'll be tutoring." She says. She turns to Martin. "This is Raven Brown, she'll be tutoring you. If you do something out of line then I'll sort you out." She threatens. He nods. "Don't worry mam, I'll keep him in line." I say. I hope I didn't ruin things. He just looks at me with a smirk on his adorable face. He doesn't respond to my statement.

He just turns his attention to Mrs Murphy. "Thanks Mam, I think I'm going to get good grade with Raven by my side." Mrs Murphy looks surprised. I don't know why though. Maybe she has never heard Jim talk like this. "I'm glad I could help." Is all she could say. I leave the room followed by Martin. As I walk in the direction of the door I feel s strong hand stop me and I turn to see Martin.

"So when do we start, Ms Brown?" He asks. I pull away from his grip. "When do you want to start." I ask. "How about tomorrow fifth period? You don't have a class neither do I." I look at him surprised and shocked. How does he know all of this? "I saw you in the library today." He explains. "So I thought you were free fifth period because that's where a lot of you guys spend your time."

I meet his blue eyes for the first time and he looks into my hazel ones. He looks at them as if he's going to get an answer from them. "What do you mean you guys?" I look at him with a serious look. "I mean that's where all the A students spend their free periods." He smirks. He walks away before I could even reply.

I'm on my bed studying for a test on Friday. I've been studying for forty five minutes. Dad offered to cook today, so I think he's busy cooking now. Melisa and Kayla are next door.
The Whites moved out a week ago, now we've got new neighbours. They've recently moved here. So Kay and Mel made friends with the Haynes twins. The Haynes are very nice people. I head downstairs, in search of my dad. I don't see him in the kitchen, so I guess he's in the lounge. As I'm about to ask to change the channel, he turns his attention to me.

"Go and fetch your sisters. Its late now and they have been there for a while now." He says. I nod and walk in the direction of the door and exit. Walk around, and reach the front door of the Haynes. I knock on the door and a few seconds later a boy around my age opens the door. "Hey I'm Raven Brown." I smile. He returns my smile
"I'm Robin Haynes." He says.

"I'm here to fetch the girls." I say as he welcome me in. He nods and closes the door. "Wow." He turns and says "My dad designed the house. Interior and exterior. He's and architect." He says. I mentally face slap. "Did I say that out loud?" He smiles and nods. "They are in the back." He says and we continue to walk through the house. He leads me to the back. "Raven!" The girls scream as I reach the back yard. I cover my ears and smile at them.

"Hi, I'm Luther Haynes." A boy around seven years old greets me with a smile. I return his smile and then km approached by two girls that look the same. One of them talk. "Hey, I'm Elsa and she's Ella." They smile. I return their smile. "We are twins." They say in unison. "I'm Raven. Kay and Mel's older sister." I turn my attention to my sisters. "Time to go."

I say bye to the Haynes siblings and wait for my sisters at the door. They also say bye and hug each other. We exit their house and we head home.

"Where do we start?" I'm in the library with Martin. "Algebra." He responds. "Alright, we'll start with equations." I inform him. "I'm going to write a sum and we are going to do it together." He nods. "2x+4=4x+8. Do what we do first, we take the values with x to one side and the ones that don't have x to the other side." I explain the first bit to him and he nods in understanding. "2x-4x=8-4. When we take things over we change the sign. -2x=4 is left, then we divide with the value in front of the x to get you answer."

He holds up one finger and I stop talking. "So x will be -2." I look at him with a smile "that's correct."I give him three sums to do. He gets one wrong but we'll get there. The bell rings. "We'll finish this tomorrow and move to a new topic. Tell me if I'm moving fast." He nods and leave the library. I get maths now. I gather my things and leave the library.

I rush to my locker and take out my maths books and run to maths class. I bump into something hard and tall. I look up to see that the something is a someone. "Watch where you going!" He says shouting. "Alec you bumped into her, she should be the one mad." A familiar voice says. I turn to meet Martins blue eyes. I stand up and look into Alec's eyes. "Your friend is right, you bumped into me. All that a jerk like you had to say was sorry but NO you want to bite my head off. You should get your attitude straight mister. Move out of my way you skyscraper."

I hear some people laugh. I look at them and walk to class maths class. Gosh! I'm freaken late because of that jerk. I open the door "Mrs Murphy, sorry I'm late. I" my sentence is cut when someone wraps their arm around my waist. "She was busy with me Mrs Murphy." She nods.

"It's fine, I understand." She responds and turns her attention to the board. Martin whispers in my ear "where's your seat?" I turn to look at him. Oh.Me.Gosh we like an inch away from kissing. "Second seat from Mrs Murphy's desk." He walks me there with his hand still on my waist. He uses his free hand to pull the chair out and seats me down.
