Spencer's POV:
"I'm afraid Molly is not Wren's child." Those words keep repeating inside my head and each time I become happier. Molly's father is not a criminal! Molly's father is not Wren! I smile to myself, forgetting that Dr. Wilson is still in the room waiting for me to say something.
"Um, well thank you for letting me know. Do you know who is the father?" I ask, already knowing who the father is.
"I'm sorry Spencer, but we don't have the right technology to figure that out without a DNA sample from a suspected father," she replies, "Spencer, is everything alright? You seem happy that Wren is not the father..." she questions suspiciously.
"Oh, yeah, I'm just a little shocked, that's all," I lie.
Just then, Wren comes in holding Molly and he hands her off to me. Dr. Wilson gives me a "tell him" look, then exits and shuts the door. I look down at Molly's precious face and realize that she looks nothing like Wren. She looks like-
Wren cuts me off from my thinking. "Spencah, Dr. Wilson told me that you wanted to tell me something," he says half questioning, half stating.
"Oh, right well how do I put this delicately... Oh yeah! YOU'RE NOT MOLLY'S FATHER!" I yell, quiet enough not to wake the baby, and with an accomplished smile on my face.
He looks at me for a second, down at Molly, then back at me. He just stands there for a couple seconds until a smirk creeps onto his face.
"I take back what I said about respecting you more. Now that I'm off the hook, your life goes back to being a living hell."
And that's when I realized I can't protect my baby girl from what's to come. Her only hope is her father, Toby Cavanaugh.
