New Home
"So...we're not going to kill her, right?" Brian asked, looking more than a little uncomfortable. A low warning growl protruded from Jawn's chest, and Brian threw up his hands. "Hey, I was just wondering! Doin' my job, ya know? Jeez." My hand rubbed on Jawn's side almost by instinct, trying to calm him down. He pulled my against him harder, and I couldn't help but get excited.
"No, we are definitely not killing my mate." I shivered against him. My mate. I couldn't believe it was really true. A smirk crossed his face as he felt me shudder, but he kept talking. "But I need to get her home. Get her...acquainted with everyone." The way he said, acquainted had me all hot. He was just praising the very ground I stood on a minute ago, and now he's already making sex inferences? I think I'm going to like this guy.
Brian must have caught what he meant too, because he cringed.
"That's gross." He mumbled, scratching the back of his head. Jawn chuckled, his fingers rubbing gently against my hip.
"I'm kidding, Brian. I am going to take her to meet everyone though." I stiffened. I have to meet everyone? Well okay, I knew I was going to have to but...It's just something I'd rather not do. Everyone on my old pack hated me because of how much of a slut and a trouble maker I was. What if the wolves here aren't any different? What if they all hate me too?
For some reason the thought had my heart clenching. With my old pack it was okay for everyone to hate me. A part of me knew I didn't belong there ever since my mom died, so it didn't matter. But know I feel like I do belong. Like this is where I'm supposed to be. And if the people here don't like me...
"Hey." Jawn murmured, making my eyes flicker up to his. "Calm down, baby-girl. They'll love you, I know it." He assured me, rubbing his hand up and down my back. I gave him a small smile, honestly not really believing him. They'd probably hate me just like everyone else.
"Yeah. I mean, I love you." Brian smirked at me, earning himself another growl from Jawn. Brian laughed and grinned cheekily at him.
"You are seriously pushing my buttons today. One more comment from you and I'm kicking your ass." Jawn grinned back, only half kidding.
"Yeah, sure. You could never beat me up. I'm your best buddy, you'd be a wreck without me." Brian smirked as he made his was to the now-broken door. I giggled at him as Jawn stuck his foot out, making him trip slightly. He stopped, his back to us, "You know, that's very immature." He glared playfully at Jawn over his shoulder as Jawn laughed. "Act your age, sir." And with that, Brian stomped his foot then took off into the woods. I laughed after him, surprised at how light his and Jawn's relationship is. Beta Trey always seemed to cower in Alpha Flynn's presence, and Alpha Flynn seemed to like it that way. He was power hungry, and honestly it pissed me off. But Jawn, while he still gushed power by just standing here, seemed to put her power aside and just talk to his wolves like he wasn't powerful at all.
Well, that's what I hoped anyway. I've only ever seen him with Brian, and they're best friends. I don't know, maybe he was different with everyone else.I kinda doubt it though, he doesn't seem like the type of person to be power hungry. Brian flipped when he yelled at him, so maybe he doesn't yell too often. All of us got so used to Alpha Flynn yelling that we still feared him, but we expected it. Brian didn't look like he expected it at all.
"What are you thinkin' about down there?" I blinked out of my little thought process and looked up at Jawn. It was kinda sad how much taller he was than me. But, it just made me feel petite and honestly, taken care of. I haven't felt that way since my mom died.
"What of they don't like me?" I blurted, not really intending to. As soon as it slipped I pulled a face, making it completely obvious that i didn't mean to say that out loud. Jawn chuckled.
"What do you mean, 'what if they don't like you'? They're going to love you." Jawn turned me in his arms so I was in front of him, then started to nuzzle my neck again. I have to say, I really like it when he does that. Like, really like it. His lips brushed my neck and I shuddered, forgetting what I was about to say. Jawn purred softly at my response to him and began kissing the side of my neck. My body automatically responded, setting me on fire. I gasp and wrap my arms around his neck, letting him push me up against the wall behind me.
As made obvious before, I'm not a prude to this kind of stuff. I've done it enough to know what I'm doing, but when it comes to this boy I completely lost any thought I had. I let him take over as he devoured my neck, leaving my knees shaking and practically begging for more. That low purr sounding noise continued and it took me a second to realize it was coming from me. Jawn pressed closer to me, moving his lips down to the front of my chest.
I was having the time of my life here, but we had to stop. I was not about to complete our mating bond the first hour of meeting each other, in a dungeon. Gross much? Taking his face gently in my hands I brought him up so I could meet his eyes. The look on his face almost had me dropping my panties for him. His eyes were completely hooded, the only thing standing out being the bright golden color. He looked ready to eat me, and I was this close to letting him do it.
"Jawn...We have to stop. You were going to show me the pack, right?" My tone was so low and raspy I barely identified it as my own. Jawn started at me for a long moment, as if contemplating letting me win or not. But eventually he blinked and the gold went away, telling me I won this round. I smiled softly at him as he sighed, pulling away from me just enough so he wasn't touching me.
"I guess you're right. I did say I was going to show you the family, didn't I?" My heart leaped at the word. Family. I had never heard Alpha Flynn call us family. Jawn reached up to scratch the back of his head, an embarrassed look on his face. I giggled, reaching to grab his free hand just to grab it. He grinned at me when our fingers intertwined.
"Yes, you did say that. Big surprise you don't remember." I smirked, looking away. He blushed slightly, looking extremely adorable. I laughed as he chuckled at his own embarrassment.
"Yeah, whatever." I grinned at how I had just won. He narrowed his eyes playfully at me, but ignored it as he continued to grow more and more embarrassed. "Well, the family is...The family's a bit over-dramatic."
"Over-dramatic? Like how?" I smiled, genuine curiosity bubbling. I couldn't help but be excited about all this. New family, new friends, new home. A fresh start. Not to mention a new hunky, sexy as hell mate.
"Oh, you'll see." Jawn gave me a lopsided smile, tugging me towards the door. "Come on."
And boy did I see.
