Dizzy. Disoriented. Motionless. Weak. Jack Cage lay under the rubble that came down out of nowhere. An explosion. That's all he heard before the ceiling crumbled down on him. He looked at the stopwatch on his wrist.
19 Hours 43 minutes left.
He had to hurry. He looked left and right. Then he looked on him. A huge chunk of the ceiling laid on him. He was losing breath. And time. He had to get it off. But he didn't have the strength to. He then saw two bodies lying beside him. He feared the worst. He looked around him. No sign of Mavean or Emmanuel.
Damn it, Cage thought. He had to get this ceiling piece off his chest. Fast. Suddenly, he heard a cracking sound above him. What was left of the ceiling was breaking down. He estimated at the rate it was breaking he had at most 2 minutes. He had to be fast.
Using every bit of strength he had left, Cage pushed the rubble on him. It didn't work. But he could feel it moving. He had seconds left. He kept trying. The cracking got louder and louder. Cage was losing time.
Then Cage then stared up. He had lost time. Was this the end? He didn't know. He might be lucky, he might not. He whispered something to himself eyes closed.
The ceiling came down.
19 hours 33 minutes left.
