Autumn's POV:
"You don't remember me do you.." his voice was above a whisper.
I thought hard, this was the first time I met him, I don't remember anything.
His expression was blank. "You really don't remember Autumn..?"
I slowly shook my head no, and he sighed.
"You were my child-hood love."
What? Wait he's lying.
"What are you talking about?" I managed to find my voice again.
"Are you ready to hear the truth?"
I nodded my head.
Xavier's POV:
I breathed in deeply. I sat up and looked at her, I was about to tell her everything about me.. Everything about us.
Dylan's POV:
I smiled at Summer, she was finally going to be mine. For years I waited for her, wanted her to be mine. I hid behind the shadows and now I'm finally here with her.
"I need to tell you something."
"What?" Her voice was quiet and soft.
"This is going to sound really creepy, but.."
She laid back and quietly listened. Amusement sparkled in her eyes.
"When you were little, we were about 9 years old. You didn't go to the same school Autumn did.. Although I remember I saw you for the first time. You were in your parent's car waiting for Autumn to get out of school..
I went to school with Xavier and Autumn. I liked you, a lot. I remember waiting under the flag pole. I watched you smile as your sister came in the car.. I remember telling myself that I was going to see you again, and be with you. Now that your here, I just wanted to let you know that."
After I finished my speech Summer stared at me expressionless.
Fuck what did I just do..
Summer's Point Of View:
I didn't know what to say. I didn't go to the same school as Autumn. I went to a Gate school because I was an honor's student. I was a good kid. Autumn for one, was a trouble maker. Autumn had the perfect grades, just not the right attitude.
I was so confused.
Xavier and Autumn went to the same school? With Dylan?
"What- What about Arianna?" I asked him.
He smiled, "Arianna was homeschooled with our real mom."
"Wait what? Real mom?"
Dylan chuckled. "Xavier has a different mom then me and Arianna."
I was shocked, "Oh."
He smiled, "Is everything alright?"
I took a deep breath and released it.
"Autumn's adopted."
Xavier's Point of View:
Autumn laid down as I sat at the edge of her bed. She was quiet, and she was listening.
"Before I met Dylan and Arianna, I was living with my real mom in Kansas. I was a mistake child. My mom was practcally a whore and fucked my dad then had me. My mom was a complete bitch to me. She abused me, hated me. She thought my dad was worthless scum, but he wasn't. He's a really good guy. It was her that was scum. My dad was caring, protective and loving. My mom never let me near him though, she was too drugged up to realize shit. I didn't get to see him until I was 7." I stopped for a moment and looked at Autumn.
She nodded her head, telling me to continue.
"I ran away from home and called my dad, he came. We went to court and he finally had full custody of me. We moved to Chicago to get away from my mom. Then dad told me he was seeing Cindy, Dylan and Arianna's mom. They were engaged. I met them at the wedding. I was 10 and they were 9. For the first time I actually saw my brother and sister." I strained myself.
Arianna was homeschooled by with Cindy. I transferred schools with Dylan in fifth grade. That's when I met you." I stopped and I had realized I'd been shaking. Autumn slowly got up and leaned her head onto my shoulder.
"What? I-.... Explain." Confusion flashed in her eyes.
"Well... I've known you since 5th grade. We were best friends. Until the end of freshman year. We were partner's in class and you refused to do the work so I had to do the work for you so you wouldn't get in trouble." I snickered.
"Yeah.. Sounds like me." Autumn snorted.
"Yeah, well I had a little crush on you. We used to do everything together. We did homework, played games, went to the park. I taught you how to skateboard." I stopped for a second and stared at her.
"What- No I don't remember this. Br- He taught me." Autumn shook her head repeatedly.
"No he didn't, I did. We were at Crest-point park. Around the sidewalk. You had a dark blue helmet on. Black skateboard. It was 6th grade. I taught you how to skate around the park, past the oak trees." I tried to remind her. Obviously I wasn't doing a good job.
"No. no you're lying, I've never heard of that park."
I shook my head. "No I'm not." I pointed at her knee, there was a small scar that was barely noticable on her right knee. "You fell off your skateboard and I ran over to you and carried you all the way home."
"No. I got that scar from falling off my skateboard when He was teaching me. You.. You're lying."
"Autumn, I'm telling you the truth, believe me. Ask me anything and I'll tell you the answer truthfully. We were best friends. We held hands in middle school like dorks. You were so nervous going into middle school and freshman year. We had lunch together. We sat in the cafeteria while I tried to tutor you in English and you tutored me in Math. We made fun of the principle and the teachers. We occasionally got in trouble for skating on campus. Don't you remember?"
She stared at me for a long time. Her face was expressionless.
"I don't.. I don't believe you."
"Trust me... Please.. Just give me some time, so I can explain." I felt my cheeks getting hot, and tears fill in my eyes. I blinked hard.
"How come I can't remember then?"
"That, I can't explain.. I don't know."
"Just.. Get out for a bit I need to be alone for a while." Autumn spoke.
I slowly stood up, and nodded my head. Without a word I walked out of her dorm room and gently closed the door.
Please remember.
