Eventually Chloe began to only see the burning image that haunted her. That was all she could see in the shadows, the paintings, the pictures. It was all she saw in the mirror. She cried constantly throughout the day, dehydrating her worn out body. Rarely ever sleeping and barely eating even a granola bar.

She went to the bathroom after finally getting the courage to try and eat more than a granola bar. She couldn't stomach it and she threw it up just minutes after finally forcing herself to eat the last bite.

She looked into the mirror as she washed her mouth out and rinsed her face. For a brief moment she saw not the image, but her reflection. The once bouncy, outgoing, cheerful redhead was gone and now replaced with the lifeless zombie that stood at the bathroom sink. Her beautiful red curls had lost their bounce and glow and were now a tangled mess, matted on top of her head. Her bright blue eyes were now sunken, puffy and red, the shade of bright sky blue faded into a dull grey. Her cheeks were stained red from the burns of tears upon tears. Chloe Mitchell-Beale was gone.

But in this moment, as she stared at the lifeless shell of her once beautiful and happy body, For the last time, she thought of her happiest memories.
