even though taehyung and his mother were going to spend time together, the boy still had school to attend. his classes exhausted him, he was constantly running around, rushing to keep his grades up and to spend as much time with his mother as possible. he was tired of the constant cycle.

his classes were the same as always. he was kicked around. he was yelled at. he was misunderstood.

he would go the restroom at a certain period to fish out the shard of metal. it became like a habit to him. something he couldn't live without doing.

it was truly sad, how the boy felt he could only live and feel by suffering great amounts of pain.

the school day ended with taehyung walking out of campus, his head bowed down. he quickly walked towards the school exit, before he felt a hand on his tan corduroy jacket. he flinched, surprised by the sudden contact.

he turned around, his face contorting with shock.

"jeongguk... what do you want? i've already been hurt too much recently. can you just, please, leave me alone."

the honey-colored boy's hands were cold, his fingertips fragile and soft. he shook jeongguk's hand off his shoulder, making eye contact for a split second. he looked into the latter's eyes, searching for the small kid he used to know before. the one who would hug him so tight they fell over, giggling until their mothers called them home. he didn't see anything, leaving him disappointed.

on the other hand, jeongguk stared into taehyung's soft brown eyes, a sharp pang of sadness hitting his heart. he saw how glossy his eyes were, his chest rising up and down with anxiety. when did he start hating taehyung? he couldn't remember.

his heart unknowingly fell when taehyung shook his hand off.

he didn't even give me a chance to speak...

taehyung came home, going straight to his bed, the satin sheets feeling cool on his skin. his heart hurt.

why does he even try to talk to me? doesn't he know he's hurt me enough? doesn't he know he's already done too much? is he that cruel to not even realize what he says hurts?

he sighed, standing up to change out of his clothing. his cotton shirt fell off his shoulder, exposing a bit of his collarbone. his tan skin glowed, the sunshine rays seeping through the pale white window blinds. the sunlight reflected off his skin, sun droplets kissing the expanse of fading scars.

he slipped on a thin blue tee, the light blue contrasting against his skin. he grabbed the waistband of his jeans and pulled it down slowly, careful to not drag the scars on his thighs. he slipped on grey sweatpants. his hair was messy in the right places, his clothing littered with wrinkles. he was the absolute epitome of beauty.

he laid down in bed again, pulling the new peach-colored sheets over his body. he almost fell asleep until he heard the doorbell ring. he lazily unraveled himself from the bundle of blankets surrounding him, groaning when he started to become chilly again. he went back upstairs and grabbed one of the plush throw blankets off his bed, wrapping it around his body, resembling a a puppy who's nap was interrupted. he slowly went down the stairway until the doorbell rang again.

"i'm coming! please wait a second!"

he opened the front door, his eyes widening.

"what are you doing?"
