Hey, don't look at me like that. I already had a death warrant issued by my lovely father.
Back to the story. Ryan and I walked into the deepest part of the forest. We exchanged stories and found out that both our dads were major jerks.
I learned that Ryan had ran away from his "dad" at age nine. Searched for records of his mother that "didn't want him" and practically lived on the streets until he met Sasha, his girlfriend who was a witch-in-training.
We walked into what seemed to be the heart of the forest. The trees were super thick and sometimes I would lose Ryan. After an hour, we made it to a cabin. The cabin was simple, but looked cozy. Harper and I never stayed in one place for too long, but I really felt like this could be a permanent home. Deep down, I knew that I couldn't stay here. Harper had warned me of what was coming up and that we needed to act fast. Well, it would be really hard if I didn't have Harper with me. Maybe, I could convince Ryan...
Anyway, Ryan opened the wooden door and bowed. "Ladies first." I walked in and almost fell over. The living room was bigger than what the whole cabin had looked like. On the far left of the house sat a desk and chair set. On top was a laptop and a lot of paper. On the far right wall was a cupboard with the word 'Potions' on it. But what made me trip was the red velvet couch smack dab in the middle of the living room. There was a wooden frame around the plush fabric.
Ryan slid around me and called, "Sasha, I'm home! I've brought someone for you to meet!"
What happens next? I heard a scream. A black cat with a white spot around it's left eye came running at Ryan and I. It raced around Ryan's leg... wait for it... screaming. Never in my life have I ever seen or heard of a screaming cat.
When Ryan picked up the cat, he stopped screaming and started grunting, which I guess was the equivalent of purring.
"This is Spooks. As you can tell, he's kinda special." Spooks screamed.
"Hey Ryan." Sasha came out and Ryan had described her perfectly. She had red hair as long as mine that was wavy. Her eyes were green, but her bangs covered her right eye. She wore an off-the-shoulder purple dress that went a little past her knees. In her hands, she held a cupcake tin with, you guessed it, cupcakes.
When she saw me, she smiled. She put the cupcakes on the cluttered desk and came over.
"Welcome. My name's Sasha." She tucked her bangs behind her ear to show a hazel eye.
Ryan saved me from utter embarrassment. <I was kinda gawking>
"This is Crimson. She has no where else to go, so I thought we could help her."
Sasha smiled at Ryan, and then at me. "We would love to help you Crimson." She then turned back to Ryan. "How was Mary?"
"Silent, like always."
Sasha hugged Ryan and turned her attention back to me. "Cupcake?"
  "Sure."
