We got lucky. A driver actually pulled over and welcomed us into his single cab, red pickup.
Sasha took one look at the driver and decided to ride in the back with Crimson. I helped get Crimson into the back and then got in the cab with Rusty. I don't know why, but something about Rusty threw me off. He didn't say anything about our posse. Before we left, he told us he could only take us as far as Crawfordsville, IN.
We didn't talk at all. I started thinking about the Hell Hound voice, to the point overthinking put me to sleep. That was my mistake.
I dreamt of a black obsidian cliff. Monsters surrounded three thrones, two of which were empty. The left throne sat a master vamp: my "father". His hands were laced with his head resting on them. His legs were crossed. When he saw me, he relaxed. He reclined on his throne like he owned the place.
~Welcome Ryan. Or should I say, son.~
I tried to talk but I guess I hadn't mastered my dream communications.
~You really think YOU can stop us? You're pathetic.~
He was really making me mad at this point. His red eyes stared me down, but I wasn't going to let him hurt me.
He smirked.
I somehow managed to cut off the communication with my father, and the dream shifted.
I was now at a beach. Ahead of me a muscular looking guy stood with his back to me. I could hear him talking, but he was looking at the water. I heard a gasp, and then a splash. The guy turned around and I thought he could see me. He turned back around and crouched, ~Hey Bella, there's no one there.~
A girl popped out of the water. She looked at me and said, ~No, there's someone here.~
  I woke up startled.
"Hey fella, you seemed to be having quite the nightmare there. Everything alright?"
  "Yeah, yeah I'm ok."
  "We're almost to Crawfordsville."
It was 12:02 when Rusty let us out. Crimson seemed to be doing better and I gave Rusty a sincere thanks. He told us no problem and gave us his number. He told us to stay in touch.
As soon as Rusty took off, Sasha let out a half breath.
"That guy, gave me the creeps," Sasha said.
"He was nice, but something threw me off about him."
Crimson looked at both of us like we were stupid. When she noticed I was staring, she shrugged it off. "Lets see what's in this town."
