Shauna POV

Ailsa and I are in the back seat of Dylan's suv. I'm losing my will, I've felt nothing but weak and empty without her. Earlier today and now are the best I've felt since right before I left."If I tell her that I'm not ready to come home yet, how do I tell her why?", I think.

"Shauna?", her voice breaks my inner thoughts.

"Huh?", my mind temporarily wandered as I try to think of the best explanation.

"Could you please answer my questions? What are you up too? And why won't you come home? ", she ask in a harsher tone.

"I'm not at Meredith's anymore. I told Dylan not to tell you.", I blurt out.

"Where are you now?"

"I rather not say."

"SHAUNA, where are YOU?", she ask in a more domineering way. Her eyes even flashed red when she said my name. This is the first time she's ever been this mad at me. "You realize there are people who still want you dead or will use you to try to get to me, and who knows what they might do to you."

"I know.", I say meekly.

"I've been crying myself to sleep because I felt bad for keeping a secret from you and hurting you. Now low and behold you, yourself are not telling me everything. So once again where in the fuck are you and what aren't you telling me.", she's now looking more hurt than mad now.

"I've been staying at the Langham hotel", I say purposely not looking her in her eyes.

"SHAUNA WHAT THE FUCK, are you bloody bonkers???", she ask extremely infuriated, so much that when I do look up her eyes are back red. "I mean do you have a bloody death wish?", she continues. Then Alisa adds, "That place is swimming with vampires."

"Yes, and spirits. Two things I need to learn about myself. My abilities are surrounded by those two things. It's that or go back to Highgate. I'm positive now, I felt spirits there too. After dealing with your mother, that's the one thing I have learned to recognize, for sure.", I say. Fortunately, she's calming down. Her face is not just full of worry now, it's overflowing with straight up fear, though.

"Why are you trying to learn about these things, what are you gonna do with this stuff?", she looks me directly in the eyes and I then look back down at the floor bracing myself for another one more of her explosion.

"I'm going after EJ.", I quitely but firmly say.

"Alone?", she sounds so wounded not upset.

"The motherfucker wants to come at me...",  she stops me mid sentence.

"No.", she says. She reaches in her pocket and pulls out a small box. She holds it in front of me and opens it. "It's us from now on.", she says. It's a beautiful, platinum based black diamond engagement ring. "I figured I'd make it official.", she says with a shy grin on her face, "I hope it fits."

I take it excitedly and it slides on perfectly. " "I love it!!!", I'm so giddy.

"I love you.", she says. "If you absolutely insist on staying at the Langham, then that's where I'll stay too. If you absolutely insist on going after EJ then, that's what I'll do too. You will always have me by your side."

I go give a quick peck on the lips and she grabs my face with both hands, she presses her lips hard against mine. I feel her longing, her pain and her desperation packaged in one heated kiss. Sticking her tongue in my mouth, she deepens the kiss. When she stops, she presses our brows together and looks me in my eyes while catching her breath.  She kisses my neck and suddenly I feel more tears run from my eyes. I realized just how much I really missed this, how much I really missed her. She takes off my hat and throws it towards the front.
