Chapter Eleven: Welcome to Detroit pt 1

Shauna POV

I'm so happy New Orleans came and went with no problems now. The crew: Alisa, Anther, Chèe, Dani, Daniel, Dixon, Luke and I are headed to my hometown of Detroit. I'm geeked and Ailsa can tell. As we walk into first class, Ailsa says, "Baby if you don't calm down, people are gonna think you're on something." I shrug and say, "Oh well, then for today, I'll be the happiest crackhead alive to people."

Luke, Daniel and Ailsa bust out laughing. I add, "Just saying" and continue on my merry way. I give no fucks today, in fact I want people to know I give no fucks, as well.  Luke laughs because it doesn't take long for me to go back to the bathroom, he knows what I'm doing. I mean it's a short flight, and I'm determined so I gotta get going. I text Alisa once I'm there.

Ailsa: Maybe(God she's a tease). Give me five. People will notice if I don't.

Me: And?

Ailsa: Lmao, k.

When I wake, I wake up in a bed of what looks like a hotel room with everyone pacing and talking, but Chèe is standing over me not moving just looking. I guess she had spaced out because when she noticed my eyes were open she asks,"Shauna?" Ailsa stops pacing and rushes over.

"Baby, can you can you hear me? Dani wants to have a look at you, ok? When I woke up this time I feel weak and like I've been hit by a Mac truck. I'm burning up, but I can't stop shivering. I hear Daniel say to Anther and Luke, "Maybe she caught something in New Orleans." I see Dani pull Ailsa aside at the same time. "I thought she said she wanted to to take a look at me?", I question myself.

Chèe comes over pushes me back down and places a cool washcloth over my forehead. But I can't avert my eyes away from Dani and Ailsa "What's going on?", I ask after I see Ailsa start to pace. "Stupid, stupid", she says and uses her palm to  hit her forehead. Dani goes and grabs her.

So I read her mind. "Stupid, why did you bite her that hard?", she says. Dani actually says, "Guys, could you leave me alone with the girls?" After they all leave, I try to sit up but I can't and I fall back as soon as I try. They all tell me to lay back down. Dani clears her throat and looks at Ailsa.

"Guys just fucking spit it out.", I say as I'm getting highly irritated and worried. I'm in a shitload of pain. I just wanna know what's going on so I can get better. "Baby listen, I am so sorry. I thought since I had bitten once and nothing happened it would be fine if I did it again.", she stops and sits down on the bed with me. She grabs my hand and caresses my knuckles.

"You know I love you and would never do anything to purposely hurt you right?" "Yes Ailsa. Now will you just tell me what's going on?" She takes a huge sigh. "Might've bitten you too hard and too long. Plus I drank too much of your blood, so if you get better. You will turn."

"WHAT?!?!???!!?!?" "I know I'm sorry baby.", Ailsa says. Chèe looks around confused as Dani is trying to explain she looks over at me as she starts to get an idea of what's going on. I'm on my back still and I put both hands on my forehead and I yell,

"WAIIIITTTT!!!" They all shut up, instantly. "She's bitten me once before how is this even possible?" Dani chimes in, "From what Ailsa explained, she bit you and took a swallow or two and she didn't penetrate the muscle. This time not only did she penetrate the muscle, she drank way more blood.

Also with vamps there is this thing....both of wolves and vamps have a venom but when vamps have a desire for someone that venom tends to seep through their fangs, often turning whoever they are biting. Most wolves don't know this. I do because I read up on these things.", she then looks at the floor and says, "Sorry Shauna."

"Well shit. How long do I have...I feel like shit.", I ask. Hell there's nothing I can do about it now, I'm not gonna sit around and mope or feel sad....hell it might actually be pretty dope. I do feel bad for Ailsa, though. I know she didn't mean to do it. "Hey Dani could you do me a favor. Could you go explain everything to the guys, please? I need to talk to Chèe and Ailsa alone, please.", I ask Dani.

I can't sit up yet. So I ask Ailsa and Chèe to come lay with me. "Ailsa look at me, I'm honestly not mad. You didn't know, Hey it might be kinda cool.", I chuckle weakly. "So don't worry or keep kicking yourself.", I kiss her forehead. I then turn to Chèe, it seems she's gotten the gist of it but I want to make sure. I keep it simple. "Ou Ailsa ak mwen yo tout menm kounye a.(You, Ailsa and I are all the same now)."
