Chapter 3 – DAY 02

“Robert was absent the next day without saying anything to me,” I said.

She wrote something on the piece of paper. I want to peek on what she is writing but she caught my eyes. I nearly jumped out of my seat.

“Does he normally tell you if he’ll be absent?” she asked.

“Yes. He always picks me up for school. I don’t own a car yet,” I answered.

“Then?” she asked all of a sudden.

I sighed. “Then, wait. I’ll go check my class schedule.”

I brought out my tablet from my bag and began looking for my schedule.

“I’m sorry. I haven’t memorized my schedule yet even if it’s already half the term.”

            She did not respond.

“Oh here. I had PE class last Tuesday. I think we played volleyball in the gym. Then I took shower and headed to my next class, Advanced Algebra.”

I told her all the minor details to avoid her from asking anymore follow-up questions.

“And then I had the very last text from the school server.”

            “What does it say?”

She is really focused in writing down on the piece of paper that she is barely looking at me.

“Just reminders about the holiday the next day,” I said. “That there are no classes on Wednesday,” I added.

She did not speak since that so I thought that we should probably get moving.
