Chapter 2. . .

School is not my favorite thing.

What? You didn't think I went to school? I said I was three years younger than the princess and she was twenty right now, which meant I was just seventeen and meant I was a senior at my high school.

I hated high school. Well, the kids who went there at least. They were full of immature, dirty, irresponsible children. They didn't know when to stop fooling around and just pay attention in class. Guys didn't know when to just stop it with trying to hit on girls. Girls didn't know that there were more important things than cheerleading and guys. I was the only one in this school.

It was just the beginning of the school year, which was unfortunate. I still had a whole year to go. As soon as graduation comes, though, I'm out of here. I'm going off to complete my full training to become a guard at the palace where I already live.

I was the best student too, which I'm not surprised. I studied in my free time when I'm not practicing fighting. I don't many friends either. Well, I don't have any friends either. Unless you count the boy who insist on sitting with me at lunch and talks to me even when I don't listen to him.

I usually get my lunch tray and I go and eat at the library while either studying, doing homework, or read a book. There was this boy who decide to sit with me starting last year. He has been here for now three years. He came to this academy in freshman year; he never came in the lower grades like everyone else.

Starting junior he decided he would follow me one day to the library and after 5 minutes of sitting there, he came and sat down across from me. He introduced himself and I had just stared. I was shocked; no one ever tried contacting me. They would occasionally comment and stuff but this kid got into a whole conversation with me. I never said anything of course, and I was barely listening, but he either didn't notice or didn't care.

That day was a Monday and that meant it was just the beginning of a week. Mondays weren't my happy days. The happiest I could get is while being here at school is on a Friday.

First period was French. I would have taken Spanish, because I thought it was more needed out in the real world if I ever visit when I'm older and visit while protecting someone, since Amelia was also interested in the Spanish culture. Hernand actually goes along with the Spanish culture since the King and Queen are Hispanic.

But I already knew Spanish. Most of the people who work at the palace speak Spanish and ever since I was little they would talk to me Spanish and that's where I learned it. I was good in Spanish class, and could speak it if necessary, but I liked other languages better.

Nonetheless, I always paid attention and never paid much attention to anything else going on. I was taking notes when someone threw a crumbled up piece of paper at my head.

I turned around slowly and glared at anyone who dared meet my eyes. There were only a few who had looked up and once I looked at them they quickly turned back down to their notes. Except for one. Michael Tervez, the biggest jerk in our class.

He gestured towards the piece of paper that was no on the floor and mouthed, ''Read it.''

I gave him a look before bending down and picking it up. I glanced at the teacher but he was still at the board writing away. I smoothed out the piece of paper and tried to read the messy handwriting.
