Oh my gosh, yay! I didn't think I would finish it today but I guess I did. I think it's kind of short and stay tuned for a sneak peek of one of the stories I'm working on after this chapter. Thanks.

Chapter 15

The next morning, I realized I woke up later than usual but still earlier than most. Everyone went to sleep late last night, which meant we were heading out much later, but I was still earlier than everyone.

The sun was up and there was only a little gray mist hanging around the trees. Demark really wasn't a cheerful place. And there were no birds chirping or greeting us today, all I got were a few nods from the guards who were already awake.

I got ready for the next day and I walked around the edge of the forest.

''There's a creak a few yards down south, if you'd like to go there,'' a guard told me as he sharpened his sword. ''You could go there for a while until we're ready to leave, just don't go too far.''

I decided to take the guys advice and go and see what I could do down there. Maybe, it'll give me time to think. All this thinking was hurting me and making me even more nervous about this whole thing. It will all drive me insane.

As I carefully made my way down and towards the river that I could now hear, I came to a sudden stop.

There was Damian. He was sitting on a rock that wasn't too big but big enough to be able to sit on. He had a handful of rocks in his hands and I could see that he was throwing them in the water. He didn't have much water to work with, but he was able to make them skip over the water's surface.

I stood there watching as he did this, and watched as his muscles flexed while he did it. His face was blank, so I couldn't understand what he was thinking in the moment. But I knew what I was thinking. And it was wrong for me to think and feel it.

''What are you doing?'' Damian asked and I almost jumped, not thinking I was close enough or loud enough for him to know I was here.

''They said I could come down here, since we weren't leaving yet,'' I explained. I was now wishing I had stayed at camp. At least Andrei didn't have the power to torture me whenever he felt like it. Even if it wasn't intentionally.

''Don't go to far, you won't like what you'll find,'' he warned but I don't think he actually meant it.

''I wasn't planning to,'' I said and continued walking. I made a long detour to go around him and to get to the other side. I passed where he was but he didn't even glance in my direction.

I walked farther down the creak and I soon stopped. I looked around and soon felt like screaming. It was a bit dark here. The sun actually shone down here but only a little and more towards the water. The trees clouded everything.

I picked up a few rocks and although I didn't know how to make them glide over the surface like Damian, I tried.

I pictured Andrei standing in the water and I soon started throwing it towards him. I was becoming crazy. This wouldn't be happening if Andrei didn't kidnap the Princess. This wouldn't be happening if I hadn't gone to Edward's house. This wouldn't have happened if I hadn't volunteered to bring Amelia to Vasili's house.

But no one could change the past. No one could have seen this coming, well, Vasili did but it was too late and very unclear. I didn't see it coming.
