Where Is Love

We're all looking for love
And we're all looking at the wrong places

I glance up and see the love I can't reach
At sides-the love I can't keep
And downwards I see love at my feet-
One that I wasn't willing to keep.

Rude, rude-they all say to me.
Oh, well, you know; I can't force what can't be:
To love one that was beyond what I choose to see.
And the ones who love me-
They weep, weep.

Why can't you try-they ask I.
I answer them with the truth:
It's a love that can't be!
Why can't it be a love that can be?-another asks
Well, I'm not willing to accept the love by thee!

And now I see broken hearts around me
And too late was when I realized:
It was all because of me
And now I know where love truly is-
It's in places I choose not to see.
