Remus descended the stairs and stole a glance at the common room. A few people were there and a girl with ebony hair was sitting by the hearth with a book propped open on her lap.

She appeared to not have heard him approach but was able to call him by name anyways.

Jasmine's POV:

A pair of arms slipped around me from behind as I let a lazy grin spread across my face. Remus had done this too many times to make me jump now.

"Hello Rem." I laughed as he sat beside me, draping an arm around my shoulder. "Hey Jas." He smiled. We sat in silence, he watching me as I continued my reading. Something about his gaze seemed unsettling, it was as if he was nervous about something.

I finally closed my book and frowned at him. "Something you wanted to tell me, Rem?" I proposed gently. Remus shook his head and my eyes darted to his hands, I saw him playing with the hem of his cardigan. I look up and gave him a look. Then, he nodded. He shifted himself to a better position and beckoned to me. I set my book on the table and wriggled into his embrace, laying my head on his chest and wrapping my arms around his waist loosely.

"So?" I prompted, looking up at him. "Well, it's nearly the end of the year." He started, looking at the fire. "And I was wondering if you would want to live together." He blushed and stared hard at the fire. I managed a small smile and gestured for him to carry on. I felt my heartbeat speed up a little. The common room was silent, only the fire could be heard before Remus carried on.

He took a ring box out of his robes and flipped the box in his hands. "This is gonna sound cliché." He mumbled. "Jas, I've loved you since I first laid my eyes on you. I didn't use to believe in love at first sight but after I've met you, that changed. All I could've thought of was you, even if I closed my eyes, you were still there." I stared at him and I didn't know how I should react. Remus ignored my shocked face, he smiled a little as he opened the box. I realised he was nervous as hell as he was having a hard time opening the box. When he finally opened it, I saw a cloudy stone topped on a ring, sitting on the velvet cushion. The moonstone was in perfect shape, all I could do was gape at it. "You stole my heart, and to get it back, I'd have to get together with you. And this ring is my promise to marry you when we graduate from here." He smiled. It was a small smile, nothing crazy, just one filled with adoration and love.

Towards me.

I heard my heart beat faster and faster, blood roared in my ears. My world was spinning. After all this time, I was worried that he wouldn't propose or that he had forgotten about it, wait- is this a proposal? I felt warm and giddy inside, but I was confused too.

I looked up into Remus' brown eyes, my blue ones filled with confusedness. "Rem, are you proposing?" I asked.

I saw him press his lips together as he tried to contain his laughter. "I'm sorry," He grinned as he got down on his knee. "Jasmine, I love you to the moon and back. Will you marry me?" He asked me again.

I walked back into the dorm, dizzy with happiness. When I walked in, I tried to act normal but my cover was blown by Hazel almost immediately. "What happened?" She questioned. I shook my head but I was pretty sure I had a stupid grin on my face. "Nothing."

"Something." Hazel retorted. "Lils!! Cub's engaged!" She smirked. A shriek was heard. Two seconds later did Lily come crashing out of the washroom, her red hair tied up in a messy bun. She was wearing her pyjamas and she offered me her biggest smile. "Show us." She demanded. I laughed and shook my head in disbelief. "How did you know?" I laughed and showed them my left hand. The moonstone ring smiled up at my friends as they gasped in wonder.

"Your freaking stupid grin. So proud of you, Cub." Hazel smirked again. "No wonder Remus took ages to propose! This ring is beautiful!" Lily laughed in delight. I smiled softly. "Jasmine, you're one hell of a lucky girl.congrats!" Lily declared.

"When's your wedding?" Hazel asked me and upon seeing my expression, she laughed.

A beautiful face stares back at me through the mirror. My veil is draped over my face, and my train brushes the ground. My mom comes through the door and grins at me proudly. "You look lovely, dear." She kisses my cheek and smoothes down my wedding dress. "Thanks mom." I whisper.

"Honey, if you're worried about your future, don't. I can tell that Remus is a wonderful boy and he loves you very much. We'll be at home and you can come visit us anytime. Everything will be fine, so go, and enjoy yourself because there's nothing to be worried about." Mom smiles at me as if reading my mind. A small smile plays on my lips as I reply her, "Yes, I am blessed to have Rem in my life."

I look out of the window an down at the area where chairs are set for the wedding. People flood the area, exchanging greetings and chatting happily. I look further and saw a winding path leading away from the main road and to the church. A smile lights my features.

Perhaps I'm not the best person in this world. I have my flaws and my weaknesses. But at the same time, I also have my strengths. Perhaps Remus isn't the most flawless person either. But he seems perfect to me at every angle. I love him wholly. From his head to his toe, as a human or as a wolf, all his perfect imperfections. I'm going to marry the love of my life and we will lead a perfect life together. We will go through a lot of hardships, but we will go through them together.

I turn in time to see my father knock and open the door. "Jasmine, it's time." He smiles at me.

I nod once and sweep across the room to his side, hooking my arm through his.

We walk under the flower archway and I catch sight of Remus.

And the corner of my lips curved upwards. This is going to be an amazing chapter of my life.
