Sweating bullets

I grabbed Spencer as the cop ran inside calling for a doctor. We found a doctor fast and they took her right into surgery. I had to sit there waiting for good news or bad. I couldn't stay in my seat so I paced back and forth. I spaced out when the cop put his hand on my shoulder.

"Are you ok?" He asked concerned.

"I don't think so.....and thank you." I replied my voice shaky.

"No problem...here have some water your sweating bullets over here." He handed me a a small cup of water from the water dispenser. We awkwardly stood there while I drank the water. We sat next to each other while waiting to see if Spencer was ok. The doctor came out after about 3 hours. I anxiously walked up to her. She sighed hinting something bad happened.

"The good news is that we got the bullet out and her shoulder is only fractured. The bad news is she lost a lot of blood and we have to keep her here for a while to watch her. We also had to call the police because of the bullet." she said to me.

"Well I can do the report on this." the cop said. We looked at him surprised. "What I need to make more money and I'm here." He said.

"Ok then I will tell you." I could only tell him a little leaving out my daughter being taken because if I did I would risk her being in danger. I was already warned by Colleen before about the police. I had to hurry to find Elana but I needed to see Spencer first.

"Can I see here?" I asked the doctor.

"Yes but only for a little bit she needs rest." she replied.

"Now this will be a crime investigation if err...uhm"

"Spencer" I helped him.

"O yah If Spencer wants this to happen." He told me.

"Her room is on the 3rd floor room 26." the doctor said.

"Ok thank you very much." I went to the elevator that Spencer was just in but only on a bed being taken into surgery. I pressed the button for the 3rd floor. I waited while I passed the 2nd floor while listening to the cheesy music in the elevator. My phone rang as I got off the elevator. The number was blocked but I answered anyways.

"Hello." I said.

"I will be around the library if you want to see your daughter again you have 2 hours." The voice said. That's when I knew exactly who I was talking to, it was Colleen.

"Listen to me if you even think of hurt inning her than..." she hung up on me. I put my phone back in my pocket and walked to Spencer's room. I opened the door seeing her on the bed. I could hear her breathing slowly as the monitor beeped . I carefully walked up to her, my breaths matching hers. Her eyes slowly opened.

"How are you?" I asked.

"It still hurts did you find Elana?" she asked worried. I sighed.

"No, but I'm going to find her don't worry. I had to see that you where ok. I love you." I replied.

"I love you too." she said smiling at me. I smiled at her and kissed her softly. I sat at the end of her bed.

"Hey I have to go get Elana but I will be back with her ok?" I said to her softly.

"Ok be careful I love you." she said.

"I love you too." I replied. I then walked out closing the door slowly and headed to my car. I knew what library I had met Colleen there. I thought by now it would be closed. I still had the gun, it was right under my seat in a holster attached to the roof of the seat.
