Respect is Due?

 
Underneath her title a princess is still just a woman

" Briana"

" Yes princess"

" Could you get me my  gray  gladiator pumps with the peep toe, my burnt orange dress with the asymmetric zipper finish, my white sun hat , and the gray and white purse."

" Right away princess"

While her ensemble was being prepared, Tomeka took a soak in her tub which had been filled with warm water and lavender oils. A scent she found to be very soothing to the spirit. As she soaked she shored up her defenses knowing that with Danton it was going to be war and this was just the first battle. Yes she may be a woman but she was also royalty and she would not tolerate his insolence.

"He will respect me.." And with that though she exited her tub every inch of the princess she was born and breed to be, not the weeping willow she had been moments ago.

Entering the room once again everyone noticed a new energy about there princess and was determined not to do anything to disturb it. Even Briana snapped to attention at the sight of the princess.

" While I get dressed have a car prepared for me I will be driving myself today."

"But princess you know that is forbidden"

"Don't challenge me on this just do as I command!"

" As you wish"

" Also go and dress more suitable for the beach and have the cook prepare us lunch... chicken paninis, a fruit basket, water and juice will be fine, but you can add something if you like."

"Yes ma'am"

Twenty minutes later Briana dressed in a blue polka two piece bikini with a fringe top with blue sandals and a white halter top dress, and Tomeka departed for Danton's Villa on the beach. For the first part of the drive Briana sat in silence only responding when she was being asked a question. Eventually she gathered her courage and began to tell her best friend how Danton came to know of Hakeem.

" I meet a man Meka"

"Aww how wonderful where did you meet him what is his name detail details" Tomeka chattered excitedly  she always wanted more for her friend even if that meant she may have to leave the palace.

" His name is Bomani and I meet him five months ago I swear I did not know who he was I'm sorry, I'm so sorry" she cried bursting out in tears.

Not understanding what was going on Tomeka pulled over on the side of the road to comfort her friend. "I am not sure what you mean Bri what are you sorry for? meeting a man?" She chuckled " We all fall in love sometimes"

" I wish that was my only problem"

"So out with it then what is the matter"

" Bomani and Danton are brothers I told Bomani about Hakeem and how I felt bad that I had a hand in it... In turn Bomani told his brother and that is why he is here"

Still not understanding the connection. Tomeka asked " How did Bomani know to link Danton as the father".

"He was not sure but as soon as I told him your name he did a DNA test on the boy linking him as the uncle thus making Danton the father".

"How could you not tell me" Tomeka  asked quietly

" Because I was afraid of losing your trust and your friendship"

The princess experienced several different emotions all at once. The emotion that felt above all else was hurt. Hurt that Briana told another about Hakeem and that she did not come and tell her what had transpired.
