Zach woke up at noon the next day. No wonder. He and Ben had stayed up until 4am. That's what happens when you haven't seen your best friend in more than two months. Sure they talked on the phone quite often but it's just not the same.

"God, my sister's gonna kill me. I forgot to tell her I wasn't going home yesterday. She must be worried."

"You're so stupid Ben. Call her!"

"Shit! My phone died."

"Use mine."

"Yours is dead too you dumbass."

"Oh..."

"I'm just gonna go."

"There's my charger. Use that. You don't have to go."

"Bro I'll see you later. We're going camping remember?"

"Oh right. I have to ask Lexi to come along. You can go."

Once Ben left, Zach took a quick shower and drove to Lexi's. She and Emily were in the backyard talking about boys.

"Hello girls. How are you in this fine morning?"

"You do realize it is 1pm right?"

"Sorry cupcake. I just woke up."

"Late night yesterday?" Emily asked. She was a bit concerned. Was he with another girl?

"Yes actually. I had so much to tell Ben."

Emily let out a breath of relief.

"Want me to get you something to drink... or eat?" Lexi asked him.

"Nah I ate a croissant on my way here."

"Oh my Gosh!" Emily screamed in excitement.

"What is it?" Lexi asked, confused.

"It's Camp Night tonight." Emily replied. "One of the popular kids organizes it and he or she can invite whoever they want. They don't share the location so uninvited kids can't go." She added.

"And who's organizing it this year?" Lexi asked.

"Ben is." Zach replied.

"Omg you have to tell me where it is."

"Chill Em. Of course Ben invited you. You can also bring Jack along."

"Yay, it's gonna be so much fun!"

"He invited you too Lexi. He wants to make it up to you for not being so friendly the other day. So, are you coming?"

"Hell yes she is!" Emily replies instead. She's still super excited. Zach and Lexi can't help but laugh.

"So it's settled then. We're leaving at seven. If you're not ready by then I will leave you girls behind."

"Oh I'm ready right now. I'll call Jack." Emily got up to leave.

"Why are you leaving?"

"I don't want you to hear my conversation with my boyfriend. It's weird because you're my cousin."

"You don't seem to mind that when you're shoving your tongue down his throat right before my eyes."

"Well sometimes I like annoying you. Anyway I'm going now. Bye!"

Emily's good mood brought a smile on Lexi's face. Zach turned to face her and couldn't get enough of her beauty. She was wearing a yellow summer dress. It was becoming a habit of hers to wear dresses and Zach couldn't take his eyes off of her. She noticed him staring at her and suddenly the temperature outside grew a few degrees. A headband was resting on the table. She picked it up and tied her hair in a bun. Zach likes it when her hair is in a bun. He unlocked his phone and took a picture of her secretly. Lexi didn't notice this as she was staring straight ahead, lost in her thoughts.
