But, even as Colin was surrounded by people there was the chilling coldness in the air, a loneliness in the boys broken bones as the puppet danc...

Chest heaving, ribs burning with blazing red pain, I took off the swimming goggles and ran a hand through my hair. I pushed myself out of the pool, muscles tensing with resistant from the hard excise that I had done.
I shook my head violently, water dripping off my blonde locks as I walked towards Wonder who had wrapped herself in a towel while propping herself on a white unsteady, plastic chair.
Hand gripping the knot in my shoulder I looked up from the white and low key slimy titles around the pool. To my own sheer surprise I met with Wonder staring at me, her lips partly ajar, eyes opened with shock.
Turning to look behind me momentarily to see if something shocking happened but seeing nothing particularly worrying, I turned back her. She curled into a tighter ball as I stood over her, hands on hips before I breathed, "Hey."
She swallowed quickly before darting eye contact away, "Hello."
I scoffed a laugh, "Why are you so... So not, Wonder park." I air quoted her name with two fingers jokingly but her serious and partly nervous glance made my smile falter. Hand outstretched I asked, "Are you okay?"
Wonder's eyes widened as a blush crept up her cheeks, "Yes, it's just, you-" My hand reached her knee in an effort to comfort which set off a series of events.
Wonder's ears went pink and she must have lent back because her chair began to fall backwards. Grabbing the sides of chair I went to steady it but Wonder short scream announced the chair snapping. Taking a lurch to catch her and being penetrated with a chair leg in the thigh was oddly hard and painful.
There was a loud snap as the chair leg snapped and my torso landed on the plastic pieces of the chair that practically decimated under my weight.
"Fuck." I hissed, pushing myself up in effort not to crush Wonder who lay in awkward position, either leg beside my head as she lay sprawled on her back. I looked down at her with a worried expression, "Are you ok— I'm sorry, I didn't—"
I stopped abruptly when a small giggled erupted from her lips. Just one little tune that tingled the inside my chest, one that turned into a symphony of laughter. A warmth spread over my bones and danced along my skin as the hairs raised on my arms.
I stared down at Wonder who was holding her stomach, mouth open as she belted out a sound that, maybe was just too comforting to be heard by the ears of a sinner.
It relaxed my bones and set my heart on fire, melting the worries away and filling veins with gold.
A soft expression fell over my face I stared down at her, a chuckle of joy shaking my ribs as she rolled onto her side — tears in her eyes.
