The amount of rain that fell in span the two hour bus trip was suffocating. The wind tested the strength of pine trees as small scoops of water filled the dips in the earth. The camp was situated in a romate forest, about ten kilometres or so off the highway.

The road as muddy and unpaved causing the bus to rock slightly as we traveled.

I noticed glimpses of a dark, deep lake through the trucks trees and shrubs of bushes. The rain pelted against the window, sliding down the glass without ease as if it were trying to hold on.

"I'm nervous." Wonder whispered into the chatter of our classmates.

Her arm brushed mine as we rocked.

Turning to look at her and only seeing anxiousness in her eyes, I smiled gently.

I was nervous too. I never really worked well with kids. I didn't know how to make conversation with them and my imagination had somewhat died so playing with them was hard.

"It'll be fine." I said to not only comfort Wonder but also myself.

She nodded softly as she unbuckled her seatbelt, the bus slowed to a stop. We stood up and waited to be filed out and it was then I noticed Jay. She was leaning against the back of a seat, laughing with a girl.

Something about her laugh made me smile.

Carrying my bag over my shoulder and offering to carry Wonder's everyone was escoated towards a hall.

I watched in curiosity as everyone sprinted in the rain to get undercover, wondering why everyone was so scared about being touched by something that brung life.

Wonder left something on the bus and so I watched and waited for her to run back onto the bus and collect it.

Learning against a damp wooden pool that supported the roof of the vavander, the wind swept the rain to splash onto my clothes.

Feeling a pair on eyes on me, I turned to look past the bus and towards the lake. A boy was standing on about fifty metres away from the water, he was frozen as he looked at me.

Pushing myself off the pole, I studied him. He knew he had been caught and it was then I realise he wasn't meant to be there.

The class had gone in and the bus driver was bending over to look under the seats with Wonder. The boy pulled a finger to lips, his eyes huge and somewhat wild. I shook my head slowly as I looked around again once more.

A plump lady walked around the corner of the building, her stomach plump from a unborn baby. She was carrying an empty pot and smiled when she saw me.

"Hey!" I yelled through the rain before pointing to the boy, "Is he meant to be in the rain?"

The lady turned quickly and the moment she made eye contact with the kid he began to sprint towards the lake. She screamed and dropped the pot, "Get him!! He can't swim."
