I found myself on the rooftop today.

I didn't know why.

Hope had drawn me upon these tiles once again, maybe the shoes would be removed lethargically for once.

One glance to the railing crushed that fantasy.

A girl stood on the opposite side of the railing, standing precariously on the edge.

Long red hair tied into two braids and a hairclip keeping the bangs from her face.

I didn't know why, but I shouted out to her, "Hey, don't do it! Please!"

She turned around to stare at me with her soulless black eyes. She wore a bright purple shirt with a red heart, short shorts, and teal sandals.

Regret and disappointment coursed through my veins at the missed opportunity.

I set it aside. I had already made my decision, there was no going back.

The girl wiped away her tears that fell from her eyes.

Her face contorted into sorrow, and she started to speak.

"You've probably heard it all before - I really thought that he might be the one; but then he told me he was done."

I felt my ire rise at the ungratefulness she showed.

I was annoyed, irritated, and aggravated that she was up here before I arrived for such a stupid ungrateful reason!

"Are you upset that you can't have what you wanted?! You're lucky that you've never gotten robbed of anything!"

The girl looked at me, surprised. She let a soft smile across her face, and climbed over the railing.

"I'm feeling better; thank you for listening."

The girl bowed, and brushed past me.

Disappeared.

I opened the door once again.

Perhaps today.

Today.

I kneeled down to remove my shoes, but halted when I glimpsed at the short girl sitting on the edge of the rooftop.

Languidly, I straightened up to scream out to the girl.

It was almost unconsciously.

I didn't mean to do that.

I didn't want to shout, but when the girl turned her head, I knew it was inevitable.

The petite girl had pink hair in a high ponytail, a white off-shoulder shirt with a star and straps showing. She wore a red skirt up to her stomach, and black combat boots.
