Chapter 6 -- A friend's love [E]

“What??” Violet screamed with a horrible pitch, more like a defeated witch.

 “You heard me Violet, Lilith is now my girlfriend!” He said proudly.

 “But- But what about us?”  She stammered.

 “I always knew that our relationship will end like this, Violet. You never really cared, you just want fame.” He said angrily.

 At that, Violet broke down. She wailed and ran away, with Valerie following close behind.

 I was dumb struck, I didn’t know what to do or to say, I dont even know if I can move.

 Kyle faced me and apologized. “I’m sorry for that harsh scene; I just can’t take them insulting you anymore.”

 “V-Violet, She was really hurt…” I said, feeling sorry for her.

 “She ought to know, Lilith.” He explained.

 I just nodded, still trying to take in what happened.

 The two bitches insulted me.

 Kyle defended me.

 Violet embarrassed me.

 Kyle got mad.

 Then I’m Kyle’s official girlfriend…

Cassie came rushing to me, breaking Kyle’s hold.

 “Lilith? Are you okay?” she asked me.

 "I-I’m fine Caz…Im just… so tired.” I said weakly.

 “Do you want to go to the clinic Lilith?” Kyle asked.

 “N-no, Im fine, besides I need to catch up with our lessons.” I said and smiled at them.

 “Okay, if that’s what you want.” Cassie said, still worried.

 It turns out that the lessons were easy to catch; the rest of the day went by nicely, without counting the killing glares that Violet and Valerie were shooting at me.

 I was fine by that, as long as they don’t do anything to hurt me.

 Besides, if I were in Violet’s place, I would probably do the same, she was hurt and I know it.

 Lunch break came, when Cassie and I went to the cafeteria and sat down to our usual table, I was still surprised when Kyle sat by us and not beside Violet.

 I have to constantly remind myself that I was his girlfriend, not her.

 We ate silently, still not used to this new routine. I focused on eating when I heard Harry’s voice in my mind again.

 Be careful Lilith… If anything goes wrong, just call me…I will be there... He assured me.

 I didn’t know if it will work but I whispered with my mind,

 I felt his happiness when I said his name with my mind, then he just tuned out so that I can have my privacy.

 “Umm… so Lilith…” Kyle started.

 “Hm?” I asked, prompting him to go ahead.

 “I was wondering if we—“ He said but he was cut off.
