~Christians P.O.V~

Laying the book on my chest, I tried to get the curly haired girl out of my mind. I have a girlfriend, I'm the king for Christ's sake.
Why do I have to keep thinking about her?
'You know you can't deny our mate' my demon snorted as if I was supposed to know the answer to my question.
My wolf stayed in the back of my head only coming out in the presence of our mate, he was closed off ever since I started dating Alison.
'She's the Queen and she's our mate, you guys should be mating already! Instead you're with that-'  My wolf growled angrily but I blocked him out before he could finish his sentence.
I blocked out my demon as well, they were both giving me a headache.

"Hey bro, good morning!" My best friend, Eliot came out of our bathroom drenched in water but fully clothed. I rolled my eyes and closed the book completely.
"Good morning, what's the plan for today?" I hoped we would leave the castle and have a getaway before classes started.
"For the day, I don't know. But later tonight there's going to be a huge party away from the castle" I bit my lip trying to block the images of my mate in a little black dress.
"I'm down, I'll ask Alison if she wants to go" I said thoughtfully knowing well I was scheming. Eli's nose scrunched up in disgust as he laid in his bed in the opposite direction as me. I looked him in the eyes before rolling mine in annoyance.
"I know you don't like her" I sighed. He was my beta and best friend, he knew since the moment she walked through the doors.
"I just don't know why you would stick with her  when you could have your rightful Luna by your side, Chris" closing my eyes and rubbing my hands over my face.
I thought about it, there was a connection. When she looked in my eyes I felt exhilarated, the way she smelled gave me warmth and her voice gave me shivers. Having her in my arms made me feel whole, that's why I got her in my arms as much as possible. I found every reason to get near her.
"Speaking of the devil" Eli chuckled and butted his chin to the door.
My nose instinctively raised and my ears perked as I heard light footsteps and smelled the most amazing smell in the world. I contemplated going out to see her, I decided to stay in my bed but my body had other plans.

"Hey!" I leaned against the wall trying not to smile but when she swung around and stared at me awkwardly, I couldn't help but smile widely.
"Hi. How's it going?" She stepped in front of me and smiled. My heart squeezed and I pushed a strand of hair behind her ear, I could tell she wasn't used to having her hair in her face.
Blushing, she turned her face away and I laughed at her while pulling her chin in my direction. "Everything is going just fine. I don't see you with your friends, where are you heading?" I stepped back as if her face wasn't inches away from mine just now. My heart was racing just looking at the glow on her brown skin.
"On an adventure" she was vague, too vague.
"Need a companion?" I couldn't control my mouth. She looked conflicted but she stepped closer and looked me in my eyes, my breath was caught in my throat.
"Can I trust you?" I nodded, not wanting to be betrayed by my own voice.
"You can always trust me" my eyebrows furred in confusion when she took my hand and guided me. I wanted to ask where we were going but she looked so serene that I didn't want to disturb her.
Even though we didn't talk, I was happy to be next to her. Students were mostly out so we didn't see much of anybody, which made me more comfortable about holding her hands and being high on her scent. Soon there was nobody around, we stopped at this extremely large and beautiful door.
"Kyliah..." my voice trailed off when she touched the door softly, "there are no door knobs"
She giggled and then her eye flicked from the door to my hand. She pressed my hand against the door and she put hers on the door as well. It swung open to reveal a familiar room.

"How did you find this?" I stood in front of the portrait of my father, I heard her behind me picking up books and putting it down.
"I don't know honestly" she said like it wasn't something she thought of before. She stood next to me in front of the portrait of her father but she looked sad.
"What's the matter? Is your dad.."  she shook her head a hugged herself slightly.
"No, he's alive. I just wish he would've told me about his title" and she looked to the far right . A portrait of a woman that looked just like her "or about my mother, if she's alive or dead. Or why she left us" a tear left her eye.
I wouldn't have noticed if I wasn't looking right at her. I instinctively wrapped my arms around her, she pressed against me and we both stood in silence until she jumped out of my arms and ran to the wall.
"What did you find?" Curious, I stood next to her as she pulled at the heavy curtain that lead to a picture. "A picture?"
"No! Another door!" She lifted a long picture and it revealed a small version of the door we walked in. I pressed my hand against the door in an absent mind and she followed my actions, the door creaked open slowly.
I caught some words on the door that made me flush wildly, I tried to shake it off but it loomed in the back of my mind.
The touch of two lovers will lead the way
We fixed the curtain and propped up the picture then ventured down the path that was created.
"Wow, what is this?" My head snapped to a larger room with many items that lined the walls. There was wands, spell books, amulets, capes etc passed down from the greatest royals in this school.
I realized that she doesn't know much about the supernatural world, or anything at all.
Her spirit hasn't been awaken so I don't know what she has inside.
I watched her walk to a case that had a wand inside and her hand slowly raised to touch the glass, she began to breathe hard.
"Christian? There's a note for me inside," walking toward her, I leaned over to see what the note said.
'To the sixth royal, this belongs to you. Only the hand of a Melroir has the power to use it. Use it with good intentions. ~ Elizabeth'
"Grama?" She whispered under her breath and we both marveled at the wand.
It was beautifully carved with a small sphere attached to it. It matched the moonstone amulet around her neck and it glowed in the glass casing.
"Open it..." I beckoned for her to touch it and she did with no hesitation as if she was waiting for someone to give her permission to do so.
She lifted up the case and took out the wand, then a book emerged from the table that had moonstone engraved on it.
"A spell book?" She picked it up and the book unlocked.
Her eyebrows widened in delight as she read over a note inside, I looked over her shoulder and read the lightly curved words.
'Before you are able to run off and save the day, you need to know how to work your wand! The best way to practice is by making your companion. ~ Elizabeth'
"Premiso!" Her hand glided in the air and her wrist flicked. In the direction her wand pointed, a cat fell onto its feet and began to lick its paws.
"A kitty!" She danced around in happiness. I was happy for her, so much so that I picked her up and spun her around.
"You're a natural!" I kissed her cheek and she blushed looking away.
"I think the cat needs a cute witch hat!" She began to spew out more spells and by the time she was done, the cat was fully dressed in a costume. I picked up the cat and it purred nestling into my neck. It smelled like Kyliah which made me enjoy its presence some more.
"Awe! She likes you" we headed back out of our passageway. There was more to explore in that room but we had enough fun today.
She learned a spell to make her wand and spell book disappear and reappear. It was cool watching her practice, her face lit up every time she did something. We both knew she found herself, or at least part of it.
We walked down the stairs of the school in serenity. The cat had fallen asleep in my arms and every few minutes, Kyliah would glance at us and it made my heart swell.
"We should name her," She said thoughtfully and I pitched a few ideas but none seemed to fit. "How about Chai?" It was a beautiful mix of both of our names.
"Chai it is, beautiful" she smiled and held my hand. I was so content I had almost forgotten about my plans with Eliot.
'Dude! Where are you? You've been gone for hours. I'm running out of excuses to hold Alison off' Eliot mind linked me and seemed agitated
'Speaking of the devil. I'll explain later but I'm currently holding a cat and walking Kyliah to her room' I said humorously but Eliot didn't seem to be laughing.
'As much as I love the thought of you and the Luna getting along... YOUR GIRLFRIEND IS GOING TO KILL ME!' His yelling rang throughout my ears making me wince
'Cool off your balls and stall for ten more minutes. Are we still on for tonight?' I urged wanting to hang out some more
'Yeah we are, but only ten more minutes and hurry the hell up!'
