~Christian's P.O.V~
"Should we go after her?" I watched as a blonde haired girl talked to Kyliah.
My queen pressed her hands against her face in frustration, the blonde girl crossed her arms and motioned to the woods.
"Things happen for a reason," James peered at the pair walking into the trees, "Kyliah is a smart one"
"Why does the other look so familiar?" The image of light blonde hair creating a wisp against her shoulder gave me chills.
"A conquest?" James raised an eyebrow, there was something hiding behind his eyes.
"No, not even close" I faced away from the window to look directly at him.
"What?" He glared at me slightly as if he were analyzing my every move.
"What is your connection to Kyliah?" We both knew there was something going on.
"When we went for a swim," James looked down sheepishly, "we touched and I felt it"
Anger boiled in my blood and spread through my chest but my face remained stoic.
"Felt what?" My breathing became haggard.
"I am her warrior" his smile brightened the room, he was excited to protect her.
All the anger faded and was replaced with confusion. I blinked twice.
"Her warrior," my mouth was agape, "but how?"
"I do not know," his eyebrows furred, "my wolf told me"
"That is great but.."
"I have to step down from Beta position" James straightened quickly as there was a knock on the door."Enter!" My voice boomed throughout the room.
Eliot stepped in the room weakly, stench rolled off of him like a fragrance in the air.
"Christian..." he groaned airily.
"Eliot? What are you doing here?" I asked sadly, my heart stammered against my chest.
"Kyliah!" He looked around anxiously.
"She is not here right now," James said cautiously, "leave a message"
"Find her! Kill her!" Eliot screamed through harsh sobbing.
"You are not yourself anymore, Eliot"
"Kyliah is the only one who can do it" he whispered as his nails dragged across his skin in anticipation.
"Why are you doing this?" James questioned angrily but Eliot turned away and walked through the door without a sound.
"He never steered me wrong" I said tightly as we watched him descend down the stairs. After hours of planning and making sure everything was in order, I started to get worried about to well being of my mate.
There was a light knock coming from the outside of the room.
"Come in" I said gruffly hardly paying attention to the person that came in.
"Christian" a feminine voice called my attention.
"What is the matter?" The pencil nearly broke under my agitated grip.
"Why don't you look at me anymore?" Her voice cracked slightly.
"Why did you come here?" My eyes flickered to the now purple hair that cascaded down her shoulders.
"I wanted to see you, Christian" she reached to touch my hand but I pulled it back quickly.
"But I don't want to see you!" The chair and table vibrated as I shook my foot impatiently.
"Is this how you would have treated me if the baby was alive!?" Her roar rang out through the room.
I flew up, frustration was running hot in my veins. We glared at each other waiting for the other to break the tension.
"Get out" my fist clenched.
Her eyes ran down my rigid frame, she was testing me.
"Or what?" Strands of her hair circled a perfectly manicured finger.
"I will not play these games with you" I picked up my chair and sat in it.
"I am still grieving our unborn!" She swooned in despair.
"What? Do you want more money?" I pulled out a checkbook and began writing vigorously.
"I want you!" She was deathly serious.
"What is your desired number?" I looked at her widened eyes.
"Are you paying me to leave you alone?"
"And to keep quiet"
"You dirty bastard!" Her face turned bright red.
"Do not make me call you out of your name" the check was written and I motioned for her to take it or leave.
"You do not even call me by my first name"
She wept into handkerchief.
"Exactly," I pushed the paper in her hands, "now go"
She crumpled it up and threw it at my face before storming out the door.A new scent wafted in the air, I looked up to meet the face of someone unexpected.
"What brings you here?" I pulled out a stack of papers and began to write.
"To see how the kingdom was doing," her breath feathered lightly, "you did not come to the Creature's Society Meeting"
"Mother..."
"Your father would not be proud" she sat in the chair across from my desk, poised as ever.
"It is so hard to keep everything together" I ran my hand through my hair.
"Especially with what I just saw?" Her dark brown eyes flickered to my blue ones.
"My mate cannot find out" I gritted through my teeth.
"You should not keep secrets from her" my mother said sternly remembering the hurt that father caused her.
"I can't lose her now"
"Maybe you won't," delicate hands swept over her dress in vain, "focus on your kingdom"
"What did father do that was so great?" My voice cracked in frustration.
"He made sure to please as much people as he could" the sound of a heel tapping against the floor made my ears perk.
"We have alliances with most creatures," I drummed against the desk, "the vampires will be integrated as soon as Kai and I wed"
"The legend is true?"
"Very, she is the Queen of Vampires" there was pride spreading through my chest.
"Has she been trained?"
"Not yet"
"Well where is she?" The questions kept coming.
"She went to go for a stroll"
"I can train her" my hand stoped moving and started shaking with the rest of my body in laughter.
"You? Train her?"
"I want to be close to my future daughter"
"She has to focus on learning how to rule" then I began to write again.
"She will have to learn how to be a queen as well" my mother is a very adamant and demanding person.
"When is the next meeting?" I pulled a calendar out of my draw.
"Tomorrow" she sighed.
"We will be there," there was a ping sound coming from my pockets, "I have to make a compromise with everyone "
After our conversation, mother retreated to the room that was only exclusive to her. She always uses it when she stays over.
I read the text that rudely interrupted me before.
'When will you let the truth come out?'
Anger ran cold through my blood, these anonymous text messages has been swarming in since Blue-Eyes left.
I rubbed my face trying to ignore the fact that someone might be watching me.
