I woke up groggy as ever, I couldn't sleep.
There has to be a reason why Raven was acting so weird. It wasn't her at all and someone can't just turn overnight.
'Or can they?' Liah said cooly.
'She's right' Kai agreed, which is odd. They never agreed on anything.
I sat up in my bed trying catch on to what they're implying.
'What are you guys trying to say?'
'Did you see the look in her eyes?' Kai said thoughtfully.
I thought back to the night before.
Raven looked stressed...tortured maybe.
The glint in her purple eyes were dark, hungry and plain sad.
'Maybe she's just going through something' I said reasonably.
'There's only on way to find out' Liah said mischievously.
I pondered the thought, but in the end it didn't make sense.
'It would be easy' Kai said confidently.
'She clearly knows something I don't' Liah said trying not to be confused.
'Because I am the sorceress and you are the vampire' Kai boasted.
'Kai get on with the point please' they were clearly about to start arguing and it is way too early for that.
'Oh right, every sorceress/sorcerer has an amulet or gem that has a special power' Kai spoke in excitement, she finally gets to see what power was hidden in the amulet.
'Wait, grandmother was a sorceress?' I was in disbelief.
'Who do you think introduced your selfish mother to this school?' Liah said in distaste.
'How do we find out what this power is?' I questioned.
'It should be in the spell book' Kai replied.
'Remember you have vampiric powers too! I'm cool and stuff' Liah whined.
'Yeah? Like what?' Kai teased.
I would've stopped her if I wasn't so interested.
'Um vampiric speed, hearing, vision and if you are good enough, invisibility' Liah said smugly.
'I mean... I guess that's cool, I guess' Kai said reluctantly.
'That would be perfect right now!'
'It takes a lot of work, it comes in handy but you are going to have to be able to multitask' Liah explained carefully.
'I understand, we can spend most of the day working on my powers and the other half putting them to work' I planned.
They both agreed, it would be tough but Blue wasn't here and I didn't have a reason to be distracted.
'Let's get started' they said in unison.

I stared at the amulet in confusion.
"It's not doing anything" I thought out loud.
'Maybe you should wear it?' Kai questioned.
I put the amulet on a felt nothing. Looking around the room, I saw Blue's ring sitting on her dresser winking at me. I began to walk towards it.
'Please do not tell me this special power of yours is stealing' Liah groaned in the back of my head.
'Shut up' Kai hissed.
I chuckled slightly as I stood in front of the dresser.
Touching the ring made a sudden flood of images knock me to the floor.
A lady stood over me, she had short blond hair that looked just like Blue's. Her light blue eyes sparkled with tears, she took off the gold ring and slipped it in my hand muttering a few words.
But the pale hand didn't belong to me.
The woman stood up, towering over my small frame. Taking me in her arms and into a car, she drove me to a house in the woods. An older lady greeted me, taking me inside. I looked back and never saw the lady again.

I scrambled to get up, putting the ring back on Blue's dresser. I backed up and sat on my bed in confusion.
'What the hell was that?' I gasped.
'Psychometry' Kai and Liah said, both impressed.
'Very rare, you can see visions through objects' Kai said.
'Is it voluntary?'
'It can be if you have the mind for it' she replied.
I worked on all my powers repeatedly for hours. I was building my mental strength and worked through the hard stuff.
I was always a fast learner, it made memorizing helpful spells easy and multitasking easier.
'Woah' Kai said flabbergasted.
I was smiling at myself in the mirror, watching my body fade into nothing.
I was chanting spells in my head trying to distract myself while going invisible.
Liah was right about the invisibility being a hard task, I could easily be discovered in a bad situation if I don't focus.
I practiced on doing spells and turning invisible at the same time. It was getting easy as it felt like something natural, Liah agreed that I needed something harder to do.
'Try to teleport while staying invisible' Kai tossed out a random idea.
'Going right for the sharks head?' Liah inquired in shock.
'Work from top to the bottom' Kai stated simply.
'Go for it if you think you can do it' Liah said soothingly.
'We both know she can do it, I say go for it' Kai challenged.
'Alright, I will do it'
