It was the feeling of lonesome that woke Tyler up with a jolt of fright. The lack of the warm body that held him while he slipped into sleep was enough to make him glance quickly around his room before frowning. Justin must've left sometime throughout the night.

Yesterday was quite traumatizing for Tyler, yet also slightly fuzzy for him. Justin had saved him, which came as a bit of a surprise. They barely knew each other, despite the fact that Justin would hit on Tyler frequently. Although, after the previous night, Tyler can honestly say that he feels closer to Justin now.

Feeling so close to another human being, especially one that he hadn't known long, sent anxiety flowing through his veins. He's never been so close to someone so quick. It's not that he doesn't want to be close to Justin, now he wants to know him more than ever. It's how vulnerable this makes Tyler.

However, something about Justin made Tyler want to trust him. He was intrigued with the new older boy who had recently entered his life. The scary part is that he felt mildly okay with inviting Justin so deep into his life. Tyler always had a bit of an issue with trust, so why was he giving it away so easily?

The thought of his friends struck his mind. It was almost ironic, how he said he knew better than to fall for someone like Justin, yet here he is. Perhaps they judged Justin too quickly. How bad can Justin be? After all, he's been so kind to Tyler.

Kindness has been false before, though. Although something told Tyler to take the chance with this one. Before he could do anymore thinking about he situation, there was a knock on his open bedroom door. Followed behind it, Tyler's mother, Samantha, strolled in.

"Good morning, Tyler. I didn't see you last night!" She greeted, a smile plastered to her face as she closed the distance between her and Tyler. He stood from his bed to embrace his mother, returning the same warm smile.

"Hey, mom! Yeah, I was sleeping. How was the night out with dad though?" He replied, genuinely interested. When Tyler got older, he told his parents to go out and spend time with each other. They hadn't had much time while they raised him, so he wanted them to go out more now. Besides, being alone was never bad for Tyler, except for the night prior.

His mother gave a light chuckle. "It was fun, I'm glad we went out. We met up with a couple of friends and had a great time. How was your night?" She responded, soon breaking away from the hug.

The events from last night replayed so vividly in Tyler's mind. It took all of his concentration not to cry, or explode with an anxiety attack. Instead, he pushed a fake smile. "It was fine. I'm gonna use the bathroom, mom. I'll talk to you later." He rushed out, breathing soon growing heavy.

Tyler swiftly walked away from his mother, leaving her confused as she trudged down the steps. Once he arrived at the bathroom, he gazed at his reflection in the mirror. Tears threatened to spill from his eyes. It was evident that he wasn't okay.

A sudden sound erupted throughout the household. It was the doorbell. Fear immediately pulled through Tyler, and he exited the bathroom, just as his mother opened the door. Faint voices could be lightly heard from where Tyler was, although he was unable to make out the words.

"Tyler, someone's here for you!" Samantha shouted from downstairs. His eyes widened, still red from the breakdown he attempted so desperately to conceal. Then, he couldn't hold it back anymore. He sprinted into his room and locked the door behind him, sliding down it and leaning against it when he was on the ground.

Was it the guy from last night? Was it one of the friends of the man? These thoughts whirled through his mind, and he squeezed his eyes shut as he heard footsteps nearing his room. Rapidly, he attempted to make his breathing quieter and his body stilled once the anonymous human arrived at his room.

First, there was a soft knock. Soon after a voice spoke out. "Tyler, are you in there? It's Justin." The voice spoke calmly. It was Justin. Relief flooded inside of Tyler, and he smiled lightly after wiping his eyes of the tears that now stained his cheeks. He was happy that Justin was there, he wanted to see him.

Tyler unlocked the door and stepped back, allowing Justin entry. The older boy opened the door, walking in and flashing a smile at Tyler. "Hey." He greeted smoothly, closing the door as he took another step to the other boy.

Seeing the familiar face brought a smile on Tylers' lips. "Hi, Justin." He replied, his voice still slightly shaken. A frown replaced Justins' smile, as he realized Tyler had been crying. The realization just hit him, and he pulled Tyler into a hug.

The feeling of safety that came with clutching onto Justin was enough to bring more tears to Tyler's eyes. He felt the clear droplets fall from his cheeks to Justin. Surprisingly, Justin didn't move. He simply sat with Tyler on the bed, not making a move to drop the warm embrace.

They were both content with merely staying in a hug. Which they did for a while, although they pulled apart as soon as Tyler stopped crying. Justin smiled. "Are you alright?" He asked kindly, honestly concerned for Tyler.

It took him a moment to respond, but he eventually nodded slowly. "Yes, I will be. I just need some time, I think." He answered truthfully. Justin agreed, but the smile on his face spread when he stood from the bed. He grasped Tyler's hand, yanking him up as well. "I have an idea, let's go on an adventure." He suggested playfully, but completely serious.

Adventuring could be of some use to Tyler. It could potentially get his mind off of the current problems, and he honestly needed it. "Alright, lets go." He responded with a chuckle. The thought of leaving his house frightened him, but he'd have to get over it sooner or later.

Justin alerted Samantha about this journey that they'd be going on, and then he opened the door, taking Tyler's hand in his once more as he stepped out. The mildly cold air sent a party of chills invading Tyler's skin. He inhaled deeply, taking a single step outside. Then, he dropped his other foot outside the door. Justin yanked it closed behind them.

With his fingers intertwined with Justin, he passed the threshold. All the uncertainty and anxiety that overflowed Tyler's mind soon flew away with the breeze that caressed his skin. As of now, he'd succeeded in exiting the house. It was the first step on his road to recover from the horrific events that threatened to haunt him forever.
