Elizabeth then threw her phone on the bed and ran to her closet. 

"what to wear what to wear-" 

through all the neatly arranged items, she spotted something that would suit her. 

it was a flowy skirt and she paired it with a long sleeved crop top.

{ time skip to after getting ready bc oh my gosh I'm lazy rn }

when Lizzy heard the doorbell ring, she raced down the stairs faster than ever, just to make sure that she got there before her parents. 

she took a deep breath, and opened the door. 

"hey!" Jaeden smiled "ready?" 

she nodded "bye mom!" she said, closing the door before her mother asked for any type of pictures. 

"you look great by the way." he said. "thanks, so do you. also where exactly are we going?" she asked. "well, first we're going to dinner, and the other part is kind of a surprise soo..." 

"a surprise?!" 

"mhm" 

"I love surprises! wait, tell me what it is! wait no, don't, oh my goodness-" 

and as the girl went on about how excited she was, Jaeden couldn't help but stare. she was just so beautiful. the way she got so excited over the littlest things, the way she was gorgeous without even trying. she was just perfect  to him.

"did you like it?" 

"it was literally the most delicious thing I've ever put into my mouth." she laughed. 

"really? well I'm glad you liked it" he smiled. "Jaeden.." she said picking up the paper left on the table, "how are you going to pay for this?" 

"don't worry about it." he winked, took her hand, and they walked out together.

as they strolled through the grassy hill, elizabeth started to notice the sun going down. "it's so beautiful." she said. 

just like you  jaeden thought. 

he was too afraid to say that aloud, so he just smiled and nodded. 

as they continued to stroll through the grass, they soon reached the top of the hill and jaeden gently took Lizzy's hand in his. at the top of the hill, where he brought her, there had already been a quilt lying on the grass. 

"come on" jaeden said, lying down on the quilt. 

elizabeth smiled, copying his actions.

the sun had now mostly faded away, leaving the dark blue sky followed by the stars. 

"I love this" elizabeth smiled up at the stars. 

maybe I love you  jaeden thought, once again not aloud. 

"when I was a kid" she started "I used to lay under the stars with my brother for hours but-" 

"but?" jaeden asked, turning his attention towards her. 

"I dont know, its just different now. ever since my dad passed away he's been different." she said.

"I-I had no idea..im sorry" jaeden said.

"its okay, I was just a baby. thats why it doesnt effect me as much. but yeah that guy living with us? actually my step dad. I call him dad and take him as my real dad because I never actually got to meet my biological dad." elizabeth continued, "Michael on the other hand, he calls him john. which is his real name." she sighed.

"wow" jaeden stated "I mean I get it, I dont have a father right now either."

"hey, can I ask you something?" she said

"im all ears." jaeden replied.

"have you ever been in love?" she asked, still looking into the stars. 

jaeden looked at her, wondering why she had asked that.

"well I mean, at our age, I dont really think we know what love is." he stated.

"age is just a number" she simply replied. 

jaeden thought about that. and he thought about the question she had asked. 

he nodded in agreement. 

and they stayed there, staring at the stars.
