SNAP! "Shoeler!" SNAP! "Shoeler!" SLAP!
Shoeler was snapped from his gloomy flashback by Agent Covy. Now Agent Covy was an all-American man with the traditional blonde hair and blue eyes but at 6'2, 252 lbs. even his slaps packed a punch.
"Shit, Cove, you almost dislocated my jaw!" Rolling his jaw, this gave Agent Covy the opportunity to take in the appearance of his best friend. Two years into the Lawrence case has changed him drastically; His once sparkling greenish-hazel eyes were now dull and void and his now shoulder length wavy honey brown was slowly graying. All in all, he looked terrible.
"Cove?"
"Hmm?"
Raising his left eyebrow, "Did you want something?"
Inwardly shaking away his previous thoughts, "Yes, Director Collins wants you to meet the new agent the FBI sent over."
Sighing and smoothing his hair back into its messy ponytail at the nape of his neck, "How do I look?"
Like Shit, Covy wanted to say but instead opted for a "Presentable."
Entering Director Collins' office he sees the women he bumped into eariler.
"Ahh, Pat!" Walking over to shake his hand, "I want you to meet Agent Gomez," turning to Gomez, "and Agent Gomez meet Agent Shoeler, you two will be working together on the Lawrence case."
After shaking hands, Shoeler noticed how beautiful she was, not in a sexual sense but she reminded him of Lilly. The way she would smile when they were kids and picking strawberries on their grandmother's farm, laughing and having fun.
"Shoeler, did you hear what I said?" looking around he notices everyone staring at him not with anger but sympathy.
"No, can you repeat that?"
"We think we may have a lead on Lawrence."
"Where?!"
"Our undercover agents believe he is staying in a Motel 6 right here in LA."
"Well... Lets check it out!"
