Ch27: Heaven and Earth

NARUTO

Third POV///

Naruto's clones and Akimi herself jumped into the water. The blonde knucklehead only wore his black tank-top and boxers, while the silverette female had her black sports-bra and extra pair of shorts when jumping into the water, and of course, her mask. As Akimi was underwater, she spotted a group of fishes in front of her. Turning her head, she meets Naruto's gaze and they both grinned before swimming forward.

Sasuke was crouching on the shore of the river, and Sakura was preparing a small place to prepare the food. The pinkette and ravenette agreed that they won't use fire, as to not attract unwanted attention. So instead, Sasuke or Akimi will use a fire jutsu to heat it up.

Sasuke squinted his eyes when he spotted a small group of bubbles forming on the far end of the river. Preparing his kunai, he jumps into position to wait for the signal. When a single senbon needle shot up and embedded itself it a tree in front of him, Sasuke redraws his arm before throwing the kunai, directly stabbing a fish that jumped out of the water the moment Akimi's senbon shot out of the water. Quickly grabbing another kunai, Sasuke throws two more kunai's and caught four fishes, two on each kunai.

After getting sixteen of fishes in total, Sasuke leaped to the other side of the river by tree to tree to get the fishes that were stuck between his kunai and the tree.

While Sasuke was collecting the fish, a splash was heard nearby and Sasuke and Sakura turned their heads to the noise, only to flush a bold red–or in Sasuke's case, turning away. Sakura would almost have a nosebleed if she don't turn her head away on time from Akimi. The silverette got out of the water, soaking wet, with Naruto on her side as they both laughed and grinned at the small contest they had in mind.

The moment the two made eye contact underwater, they decided to make it into a contest to get more fish faster. So, they competed with each other for the most fishes they can throw out of the water. But it seems they ended up with a tie of eight and eight when Sasuke informed them.

Hearing that, Sakura giggled at Naruto and Akimi's(she has a mask, but they could tell) pouting face when Sasuke revealed to them that they tied. The latter just rolled his eyes with a smirk in amusement.

NARUTO

After Team 7 finished heating the food, they were all sitting in a circle while eating their food. Naruto and Akimi had gotten dressed and were eating in content, well, Akimi's already done eating, actually. Sakura and Naruto were whining at how they couldn't see her face, Sasuke too, but didn't show it expressively. As they were eating, Sasuke looked up and noticed the sky turning to an orange hue.

"It's already been three days since the second exam has started." the Uchiha stared at the sun intently before looking back at his teammates, who were now staring at him.

"That's right," Sakura nodded, taking a bite out of the fish and chewed.

"The start of the exam was around three in the afternoon. So we only have forty-nine or fifty hours left." stated Sasuke, taking one last bite on his fish before placing the stick on the ground.

Naruto pointed a finger on his head, "There might already be teams that have passed." he wondered, taking another fish in front of them.

"Saa, lucky for us, we only need to get to the tower." Akimi grinned, sitting in seiza style while laying her hands on her lap, already done with her meal without showing her face(Sakura and Naruto complained at that once again). While with Shikamaru's team, he had offered the silverette their extra Earth scroll. Well, he also told Akimi that Ino persuaded him to give the scroll to her.
