Chapter 5: Plus one awful year

This day supposed to be a special day for me, because it's my birthday, but I didn't feel the excitement that I had last night. Yes, earlier, I was so happy, the greetings from my classmates, from that special person, from my mother—who is in California — and some teachers from my Alma mater made me somehow the protagonist of this day.

I spent  majority of my time at school. After my whole day class, Sedrick—my best friend since year 7— and I went to SM Mall of Asia to celebrate my birthday, I thought it was okay for my aunties to spend my day outside, because they said, we were going to celebrate it tomorrow, with them, Saturday, but I was wrong. So wrong. When we arrived at MOA, I received a text from my aunt saying:
"Bday mo pero mas gusto mo mgcelebrate na hindi kmi n pmilya mo mksama sna lng marealize nyo mga sama ng loob n bnibgay nyong mgkaoatid samen.kung gusto nyo ni Aj pra walang mkialan snyo pwede nmn kayo bmukod tulad ng mga pnsan nyo kaysa gnyan pnapakita nyong mga ugali.kng gusto mo jan kba 2mira kna Sed!!!" (Woah! That was the actual text)
So I was like, "I thought it was okay to spend it outside," and it's not. I know it should be "family first"as always -_- but my mom said it was okay, I don't know why they were mad.

After we converse, an intense conversation, I just said:
"Opo Tita, uuwi na lang po ako"
I can feel my Aunt's anger from where I was standing. After that, we just went to National book store and buy books, birthday gift for myself and had our dinner at KFC.
"What an awful day" I murmured.
Literally, this day was good yet awful birthday. Probably not my favorite birthday ever.

I wish mom was here.
