Betrothed To Him

Chapter One: ♛

Ian Walton P.O.V

After I fought one of the guards outside and now have his radio transceiver, I finally managed to spot Lana. She was standing in the middle of the car park of Vitaly's farmhouse. Her legs and arms were tied while Vitaly was way too close to her for my comfort.

She remained still while he began moving closer to her, then began touching her face. Rage shot through me. Unbridled anger like I'd never known exploded inside me.

I saw red. My blood boiled, and murder was on my mind.

Jealousy swirled inside me and burned every nerve. I'd just convinced myself I didn't feel anything for this woman. She was just a fling in the past, someone I normally forget about. And now she was just a victim, a victim I was trying to save.

But out of nowhere, my body ignited in a terrible blame. I was jealous - more jealous than I had been in my entire life.

I needed to get her away from that bastard before I lose control. Especially for his abusive history with women, there was no way I was going to leave Lana with him any longer. But I needed to wait. I needed to follow the plan.

I follow the truck that they pretty much threw her in.

Fucking assholes.

I kept a good distance before signaling to the team of cops that were waiting to bust the scumbag's ass.

I saw four more guards near the gate who were securing the entrance.

I knew tackling those four security guards without making any noise was not going to be easy since Vitaly disappeared which most likely be because he's planning to change locations.

I had to take my chances. I needed a distraction. We needed to move fast.

I signal to two of my men to move forward while I head for the truck Lana was in. They needed to get rid of the four guards while I handled Lana.

*3 hours earlier*

"Tony, why is it taking you so fucking long?" I speak through the speaker in my ear with Antony. My best friend. He helped me locate where Lana was and now he was going to help me escape this place.

"Bro you gotta be patient. You've got company ahead of you"

 "Where?" I ask impatiently.

"You'll see them as soon as you exit the ammunition building."

"How many?"

"Around twenty guards with rifles"

"I'm still blowing this place up," I said.

"I know."

"So what's the fucking plan, Tony?" I ask losing my patience.

"Sooo. I'm gonna need you to exit the rear door where I can see you. Then I'm going to need you to buy us some time."

"How the fuck am I going to do that with twenty guards waiting to shoot at me," I ask pissed.

"Pretend to surrender," He said,

"Alright," I said after a moment of hesitation. Then I turn to where the explosives were and start lighting the fuse.

I walk outside and do as I was told and surrender seconds after the sound of Tony's chopper drew closer and came in quickly and suddenly light blinded them from above the building firing relentlessly on every single guard.

*Present time*  12:09 am

Our guns had a silencer so it didn't make any noise. I saw one guard near the truck with his back facing me.

Easy.

All I needed to do was bring him down and then I could take Lana.

I informed Collin about our position through the speaker in my ear and asked him to not let anyone from the federal police come just yet, then... we took our shots.

I march raising my arm to point, as soon as I did, I grabbed him pulling him to the side of the truck and put my gun to his head.

"Open the fucking door or you're dead" I snarled as he shifted and attempted to lift up his gun quickly, but I took my aim and took out his hand with a single shot.

"WHAT THE FUCK!?" He screamed in pain.

"Another move and you're losing your second hand" I forcefully pushed him onto the truck while he whined and grunted.

He started walking towards the back of the truck and opened the back door with his keys while I had my gun pointed at him.

I walked up to the truck as soon as the door was wide open and my eyes found Lana crouched in the middle of the hay.

I smiled inside with relief then turned around and punched the guard behind me flat in the face causing him to fall to the ground moaning.

I walked slowly up to Lana and removed the blindfold from her face and untied her hands and legs. I put her arm around my shoulder and tried to get her up but she was weaker than I thought.

I looked at her to say something but she looked unconscious. Panic and rage consumed me.

"Lana, it's me." I gently pat her cheeks but I get nothing. I couldn't see her features clearly it was dark and the moon was the only source of light.

"Lana," I said again lightly shaking her shoulder. She didn't respond. I knew she was unconscious. I'm going to kill that fucking bastard.

"Don't worry we're going to get out of here" I said even though she can't hear me and bent down in front of her and put her arm around my shoulder so I could carry her that way.

My plan was to carry Lana up and then deal with Vitaly later. Her safety was my main concern. I tried to put my feet down softly, so I don't trip. Then I gave Collin the green light signal before stepping out of the truck.

This war is over.
