Finally, we step into the house to meet a howling Dylan and a blushing Eden sitting on the couch,
"Dylan, Eden meet the two skilled rookies: Brook and Hunter." I motion towards the people standing beside me and the four of us walk in. wolf quickly runs to the heater and curls up, I smile and walk to my room. Today was a long day, tomorrow I should try to find some more information about Autumn's whereabouts. I smirk, soon he'll die by my hand.
Laughter from the living room rings throughout the apartment and into my room, I sigh. I don't think I'll ever get used to this noise,
"I'm tellin' ya. Wolf would always curse when he would do anything. Ah fuck the stairs are so dodgy. The bastard sold me an apple for a damn good price. But now he doesn't swear, at least not aloud." I furrow my eyebrows as Hunter continues to tell stories about my childhood, I listen intently until Dylan speaks up,
"So why did he kill his mother then?" my eyes harden at the wall when Hunter says he can't answer it. I march into the room and glare at Dylan, however Hunter pulls me into his cross-legged lap and holds me close to his stone hard chest.
"Girls would kill me if they saw me of all people sitting just above your crotch." I mutter and attempt to stand up- key word: attempt. I sigh in reluctance and make myself comfortable in hunter's lap, don't get me wrong I've known Hunter for years it's just that I stopped talking to him after a while. It's not that I'm uncomfortable sitting on his lap, it's just that I don't want his fan club to kill me before I kill a certain man,
"Tell us a not so gory story." Hunter hums into my ear once again I sigh,
"Anything specific?" I ask and look at the pairs of curious eyes,
"About your family." Brook speaks up, I look at the cracked ceiling and hum.
"When I was very little I would steal some of my uncle's weapons from his stand and use them at home to 'decorate' the walls and couches and all that. When my mum came home from work she would scold me then we would continue our normal routine. After that when she was making dinner of some sorts I would use the knife and stab it in the bowl of already cooked rice and mash it up until it was all pasty and gross. My mum would turn around and smile, after that we would eat the mushy rice paste with maybe an egg we shared between us or she would just mould it into awesome shapes like circles, triangles I think once we attempted to make stars and hearts- but that didn't go too well." I chuckle lightly, "now that I think about it me and mum must have had the best mother-son relationship in Devil's spine." I shrug, "anyway that's my story, Eden you tell us one." As I point my gaze towards Eden his face reddens and he immediately looks down,
"I remember when my mum was still alive we got this cat and named him Wi-Fi. Every time we would refer to Wi-Fi outside of the house people would look at us weird because we would say stuff like have you fed Wi-Fi or when we get home we need to make sure Wi-Fi is sleeping. But the cat dies a couple years before mum did. So we bought a couple fish and named them bubbles and soap." Eden shrugs,
"Damn rich kids." I hear Hunter mutter under his breath, I look at him curiously which he just smiles in return and shakes his head, "Later." At this I nod.
"Ok so it's my turn, let's see what's a happy memory..." Dylan mumbles to himself, a grin spreads across his face as he begins to share his memory, "Ok so basically, when me and my younger brother came home, the house was all dark and quiet. Which is weird since our guardian would always be in the house. So we walked in and BANG the lights switched on and everyone in the room appeared behind the sofas and doors and whatnot for my brother's birthday. I was excited and I didn't even know it was going to happen. I was like wow, Shale is so lucky, he deserves it. And that was the first day I ever ate cake." He beams,
